Paragraph breaks are one of those brillian innovations that civilization and literate folks simply can’t do without. :) I notice that JSLeFanu has completely ignored all the substantive points and questions that were directed against his previous posts, and is yet again robotically spammng the group with crude hate propaganda. I haven’t encountered anyone with his ideological profile yet who undertands the concept of open and rational debate in the style of Thomas Jefferson and the American Founding Visionaries. Fascism is one of the world’s most dangerous and intellectually challenged cults — it is fueled and governed entirely by fear and hatred.

I presume you need to agree disclosure requirements but you need to give me more info on what you are auditing. Yesterday’s determination by Kathleen Sebelius’s Department of Health and Human Services that all FDA-approved contraceptive drugs and devices, as well as sterilization, are preventative care and should therefore be covered without co-payment or deductible by all insurance plans follows on the heels of the Institute of Medicine’s recommendation to that effect two weeks ago. It is a decision that vastly expands the federal government’s commitment to promoting the avoidance of pregnancy as a public-policy priority. The government makes this move in the teeth of a mountain of evidence suggesting that its efforts in this regard have been thoroughly counterproductive over the course of the last 30 years. President Johnson’s fruitless War on Poverty kicked off the nation’s misguided birth-control crusade with grants for “family planning” in 1965. The effort was redoubled in 1970 when, thanks to the efforts of John D. Rockefeller III and George H. W. Bush, Title X of the Public Health…

In its last print issue, Foreign Policy published an article by Thomas Rid, a reader in war studies at King’s college London, arguing that virtual conflict is still more hype than reality. Someone at China’s state news agency Xinhua must have agreed, because they published practically the entire article (In Chinese here and here). Well, not all of it: the seventh section, which argues that the biggest worry in places like China “is not collapsing power plants, but collapsing political power,” for some unexplainable reason didn’t get translated…
