Current hearing aids attempt to do two things to enable hearing impaired people to understand speech. They amplify the speech we want to listen to (the signal) and exclude all the other sound which we don’t want to listen to (the noise). This basic strategy has been around for a long time. 5. warzakishi Says:

If the hearing aid is a behind the ear style it can easily be given to someone else. They just need to have an earpiece made for their own ear. If it is an in the ear style it is a bit more difficult. It can be done, especially if it is a relatively new hearing aid. If it is older it is not really worth it. Again the person would need to have a mold made of their ear. It also depends on if someone else in the family has a similar hearing loss. If the loss of your father is more significant the hearing aid may be too loud for most people. You have to get some advice from an audiologist.

  6. wolfont Says:

Hearing aids come in several different types, but the most popular is the hearing aid that fits behind the ear. Although some hearing aids fit inside the ear and some even inside the ear canal, the majority of users prefer the hearing aid behind the ear models. What’s the appeal? Obviously, this dec …

They should have measured Bar Deville. I’m pretty sure they were exceeding 100dB the last time I was there. There’s really no excuse for that.
Permanent hearing loss can occur at a SPL as low as 85dB with extended exposure.

Ohh I’m not upset…. but like yasamih said… it is wayyyy OVERPRICED! I agree with her 100000% They shouldn’t make it so friggin pricey! Most deaf/hard of hearing can’t afford that unless they are stinky wealthy and have you heard of a wealthy deaf person? I certainly haven’t.

  9. chattet beckarlu Says:

I work with a girl who wears a hearing aid. She's told me how expensive they are and how insurance doesn't cover much of the cost. And they don't last long!
It's nice for the kids at Head Start to see them, but hopefully you find some one who can really use them.
There must be a school for deaf kids around.

There are many local organizations that do assist persons with lower incomes in purchasing/obtaining hearing aids. I would recommend contacting your local Lions Club as they are the most prominent in most communities.

Also Healthy Hearing is an online consumer resource for persons with hearing loss and who wear hearing aids. They provide free consumer guides – one which is a comprehensive funding guide broken down by state and national organizations that assist persons in purchasing hearing aids. I highly recommend visiting the following section on their website to obtain that funding guide: http://www.healthyhearing.com/happy/.

I believe Bugliosi is trying to put an actual murder trial against Bush. Have you looked into Bugliosi’s book? I am 100% sure he is sent a copy of his book to every attorney general in the country and if any would be willing to take the case he would offer his expertise. Now you may think a former POTUS will not be executed, but I think he should and can potentially be executed. Unless you know of an exemption. The only exemption being a presidential pardon. Tell me your thoughts.

FMs AND HEARING AIDS ARE TWO DIFFERENT THINGS

FM systems and assistive listening devices (ALDs) are not just used in theaters and churches anymore. It is your right under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to access needed modifications such as a taper recorder, preferential seating, a note taker or FM system.

PLEASE NOTE THAT BILATERAL HEARING AIDS IMPROVE LOCALIZATION AND AMPLIFIES SOUNDS… INCLUDING SOUNDS IN SPECIFIC FREQUENCIES BASED ON YOUR INDIVIDUAL AUDIOGRAM.
FM SYSTEMS JUST AMPLIFIES THE SPEAKERS VOICE WHICH REDUCES THE BACKGROUND NOISE.

There are several types of FM systems that can be used in the classroom. FM systems are composed of a FM transmitter and a receiver.

The FM transmitter or the microphone and its components are used by your professors. The idea is to increase the speech signal and to decrease the background or ambient noise that your hearing aids may pick up.

The FM receiver can be an ear level receiver such as hearing aid audio boots. A boot is a small sleeve that fits over the end of a BTE hearing aid. The boot inserts the audio signal into the hearing aids' Direct Audio Input (DAI) interface. Not all BTE hearing aids have an audio boot interface.
Other receivers include: headphones/ear buds (typically for children with CAPD or ADD), a desktop speaker or a sound field system located around the classroom (everyone benefits from this).

Depending on the type you buy, FMs can be fairly inexpensive to purchase. Here's just one of many links:

  34. IAN Says:

Absolutely go to an Audiologist rather than a hearing aid dispenser. Dispensers have one goal: to sell. Once you buy an aid there, they send you out the door. An Audiologist has a doctorate degree in his/her field. They do more complete and more accurate testing. They would be able to recommend hearing aids that are appropriate for your hearing loss. After you buy the aid, your Audiologist will see you as many times as needed to "tweak" it to make it the perfect fit for you.

Hearing aids are not like glasses. The fix isn't immediate. Your brain would need time to adjust to the change. Over the years, hearing aids have improved dramatically. They don't just make speech louder. The reason speech sounds garbled is because your hearing loss is different at different pitches. A hearing aid can be "tuned" to make the pitches you need louder while the pitches you don't need sound the same. This helps make speech sound less garbled and more clear. It's really amazing how much a tiny machine can make a huge difference.

There is a big difference. I can explain it to you. Heres some general info that goes with it.

There is no medical practice to Psychiatry. Its only a belief system with no blood tests or science. People have problems from abuse or were simply into the occult. This is all that is found in every case- Source- Experience working in this area.

Hurting people hurt others. Parents and others classmates-bully and use words to trick you and to get a sick high from it. Seeing things and all the so called false mental problems start, but are not disorders. Abuse can cause all known so called mental problems.- BP, OCD, and all others. They have the problem- you only have a reaction to the abuse.

Demons are evil, deceptive, and destructive. According to 2 Corinthians 11:14-15, demons masquerade as “angels of light” and as “servants of righteousness.” Appearing as a “ghost” and impersonating and talking as a deceased human being definitely is a disguise that demons use and do other things like messing with your mind, rapid cycling, instant crying- even when they are not visible and abuse brings them as well as other things.

Hearing voices/Mood swings – Common words heard– Lets kill him/her/rape. So you have more than one entity speaking. Happy then crying? this is the classic demonic example.

PLUS – What mental illness causes objects to move in the house of the victims?

Theres power in Jesus NAME…..USE it and learn about abuse below. Test yourself.

Sound occurs over a wide spectrum of frequencies. The human ear is sensitive to a frequency band withing that spectrum. Since sounds occur at different frequencies, you will not be able to hear the sounds at the high end. The frequency that dogs can hear covers a different range. That is why a dog can respond to a human voice, but also to a silent dog whistle which is too high of a frequency for humans. The most common frequency hearing loss for men is the same frequency that their wives speak.
