This is why you see musicians wearing plugs. They're specially designed to let what they need to hear come through and block out damaging noise.
You could purchase earplugs from an audiologist. She can help you pick the correct model for what you need them for. ie: different type of filters to filter in/out certain sounds.
I use a company called Westone for the earplugs I sell. This is a good link for you to get more information on noise exposure and hearing protection.

I am an audiologist. I would encourage your grandmother to seek some opinions outside of Miracle Ear. Miracle Ear does have a good product. If it were my grandmother I would make sure that she will have top notch professionals dealing with her to assure that she has proper counseling and adjustment of the product. In many cases you can get a comparable product cheaper than Miracle Ear. Other hearing aid manufacturers do no franchise and advertise which does add costs on to the end product that they sell.
I would advise you to check out AARP. Often they will publish consumer comparisons of products. They have no hearing aid manufacturers interest, only the interest of the elderly reader. They have published the Consumer Guide to Hearing Aids that you should check out.

Yes, it could – either by constant inflammation producing fluid in the middle ear (otitis media) or by infections doing damage to either the ear drum (possibly perforating it) or damaging the tiny hairs in the inner ear that transmit the sound to the nerves. If you're getting recurring infections, it already is serious in the long run. You should see a doctor about getting appropriate treatment – you may have a drug-resistant infection that will need stronger antibiotics than usual.

When it's due to accident it's not possible to restore (husband had same thing) so all you can do is amplify to whatever degree possible. Your hearing will still be distorted because of the damage. You might be expecting too much of a restoration to your hearing. If you have hearing aids then you have already been tested.

There could be a number of possibilities going on such as endometriosis (just using endometriosis as an example only) but the only way to know for sure what is going on is to see your doctor for further evaluation of the situation to see what they think could be going on.

I think that many hearing people feel awkward when trying to speak with someone who is Deaf or Hard of Hearing. It's a thick communication barrier, and many people aren't sure how to deal with it.
If that's not the case, it's sometimes true that hearing people do honestly feel sorry for Deaf people or think that they are inferior; I hate saying that, but it's true that many people look down upon the Deaf/HOH community because they aren't 'normal'.

It usually does take a few infections, but it is better not to risk the hearing loss; see an pediatric ENT; if it's a buildup of fluid or any other blocking in the ear, they can safely have it removed.

There's no point in going to the doctor. There is nothing they can do for your hearing damage. Only thing you can do right now is wear ear plugs to let the cells rest and regenerate. How long it takes to recover depends on the extent of damage. Could be a week or two, or could be never.

You cant afford a doc eh? I recommend some home remedies my great Uncle Al did.
Take 1 tbl spoon of cinnamon and 8 oz of milk. Let it sit outside in the sun for 24 hours (1day). Then put the moisture on your cotton swab and place in your ear for 2 days straight, 3 times a day. The cinnamon creates a scratchy substance when its churned in the sun by the milk. This substance will release particles like vics vapor rub would for your nose.
Another home remedy would be to apply ben gay around your ear, but not totally in your ear. Leave and let it sit for 30mins, then place some inside your ear. It has the same effect as above but works faster.

There is no question about it but public information about tanning beds can be more than a bit complex. This all depends on who is feeding you the information.
