Bluetooth Hearing Aid: A Modern Day Magical Solution
Welcome to thehearingaidsource.com! If the information on this page is not quite what you were looking for, please use our handy search function to search our huge article database for more information.
The Information Age has not been the same ever since Bluetooth technology made its appearance because this new technology has removed the need for making wired connections and thus has done away with a vast jungle of wires while still being able to get information across devices. Some folks even consider Bluetooth technology as being the equivalent of modern day magic and nowhere are the benefits as noticeable as in the case of the Bluetooth hearing aid.
Smallest Devices
Today, Bluetooth hearing aids are the smallest devices that have, in fact, transformed the concept of how hearing aids work, especially the traditional behind – the – ear ( BTE ) hearing aids.
“Presidential hearing aid history includes President Ronald Reagan and President Bill Clinton, two presidents of very different ages who both wore hearing aids.”
In fact, with a Bluetooth hearing aid you can be a hearing impaired person while still being able to fully enjoy sounds that are crystal clear that are transmitted over mobile phones. What’s more, with a Bluetooth hearing aid, you can connect wirelessly to computers, MP3 players as well as even HDTV and thus you can perform other chores while at the same time using these various devices.
Essentially, the Bluetooth hearing aid requires fastening an ELI ( ear level instrument ) to an audio input connection ( direct ) that is situated behind the hearing aid whose microphone receiver and transmitter then converses with a BTE and turns it into a Bluetooth hearing aid that can then communicate with several other devices as long as they are also Bluetooth enabled.
“Considering advances in technology, and the ability of science to shrink useful items, the hearing aid of the future is likely to be an implantable device or even a surgical procedure”
Here at thehearingaidsource.com we try to keep abreast of the latest information. Please note that our website has grown significantly! Finding the information you need is best achieved by using our handy search function in the upper right hand corner of this page.
In addition, an ELI Bluetooth hearing aid is easy to operate and you only need to use a single button to either reject or accept an incoming call which means that you don’t need to touch your cell phone at all.
“There are at least two hearing aid manufacturers claiming to make the smallest hearing aid in the world”
Thanks to present day advances in technology used in ear level instruments, it is now possible for cell phones to ring straight into your Bluetooth hearing aid and all that is required to do so is to have a module via which every call gets channeled. As somebody who is using a Bluetooth hearing aid, you only need to press a button on this module which will then enable you to answer as well as hang up a call without needing to perform any other action. In historical truth, this module also has the capability of sensing when the caller has terminated their call and it will then automatically cut the connection for you.
“However amazing the world’s smallest hearing aids are, they still might be the wrong hearing aids for you. Since you will be working with these devices every day, you need to be comfortable handling them, putting them on and taking them off”
Actually, you can also still use your Bluetooth hearing aid with ELI as long as you are using a neck loop that is connected to a telecoil in your hearing aid. In demonstrable fact, with this feature, the module can efficiently transmit from a distance of thirty – three feet. Also, both ELI modules and ELIs are able to run from their own batteries and they do not use any energy from your BTE.

The online hearing test hosted by this site is intended to be a basic hearing screening and there is no claim or representation that the results of the test are accurate in reflecting your hearing condition. make a really loud noise like " HEY!! " and then see if he responds.or think bout if he ever responded to you when you called his name. a playmate might actually help the dog get around cause when you're not around, the other dog can help your chihuahua if theres something threatening(lets say burgular or something. ) and i doubt your hearing is as great as any type of dog.
also, i''ve known that dogs that are deaf bark really loudly and consistantly. is your dog like this?
make sure that they could be like best friends though. don't get a random dog that you just thought was cute for your dog.

Too bad for her attitude. I am a 70+ man and am considering hearing aids so I can understand people better and not miss out on life. It is a matter of price for me because I don't have insurance for that. When I do get them, I am going to paint them red or add sparkles like jewelry. People wear earrings, don't they. There is no shame for losing your hearing, mine is from loud noises, and I am proud to carry battle scars that I earned.

Your vet can tell you how to arrange for a BAER hearing test.
November 21st, 2010 at 5:06 am
You can do simple things like snap your fingers to right side of head, then left. Watch to see if turns head. Can use items to make soft or louder noises and see if reacts. Might not be both ears. And it can be only deaf to certain types of sound or pitches and hear others fine.
Your vet should be consulted before assuming anything. If he is indeed deaf then he will rely on visual cues from you to train. You will have to train yourself to always face him at eye level to convey what you want. Not very different from talking with a deaf person that reads lips and facial expressions. But find out for sure first.
We have rescued many deaf or blind or both situations in dogs. They do very well. The other senses take over to compensate.

I would not want to wear a hearing aid after someone has had it in their ear!
December 7th, 2010 at 12:59 am
Yes, it can as long as the electronics inside were not damaged. It will just need to be re-shelled. Take it either to the place you bought it, or to your current hearing care provider.
Check your contract to see if your hearing aid is still under warranty and what your warranty covers before taking the hearing aid in.
If you have a hearing aid style that fits completely in your ear (not a behind the ear style), the hearing aid provider will need to remake the mold. The hearing aid will have to be sent off to the manufacturer for repair.
Getting the hearing aid re-shelled will cost you a quite a bit, but no where near the cost of a new aid.
Another thing you might want to keep in mind if your hearing aid is a little older, is that it might be time to have it replaced anyway. If its been over a year since you had an audiogram, request a new test to see if your hearing has changed. Some hearing aid providers will give you a free hearing test or "hearing screening" for free in hopes that you will buy a new set of hearing aids. Also keep in mind that the technology of hearing aids has come a long way in the past 3-5 years, you may benefit more from the new technology than your old aid.
Hope that you found this helpful! Best wishes.

There are some organizations that provide refurbished hearing aids for patients that qualify for assistance. I'm here in California, and it may be different in Florida, but I'm almost certain that there are programs everywhere for these situations. The catch is — these patients must show that they are in desperate need of this help, in terms of both hearing loss and financial stability.
Another option is financing. This is especially helpful for patients who are still working and do not have the full amount for hearing aids at the time that they need them. Your dad's Hearing Healthcare Provider may have this available. Some companies offer a financing option that is LIKE a credit card, but can only be used for medical purposes. Some plans offer 0% interest, and can lower monthly payments significantly.
The best place to ask about this is the office your dad is visiting.

Ok, it seems like some of these answers may have just stired up some more questions…
Basicly, all hearing aids can do is amplify what ever residual hearing is already there. The majority of people who are labeled as Deaf still have some residual hearing in thos cases the hearing aides can help.
Cochlear Implants do not work on residual hearing, in fact the surgery for the implant will often destroy what residual hearing is left and replace it with a computer simulated alternative, this can be affective in some cases, particularly cases where the person has had some residual hearing before the implant and is somewhat familar with sounds.
As a more direct answer to your question, If you are Deaf wearing a haering aid may help some of the time, it all depends on your level and degree of hearing Loss, in My case I have a Moderate high Frequency hearing Loss, I wear hearing aids in Both ears that are programed to compensate for that, in simpler terms it means that the hearing Aides I wear amplify the higher frequency sounds (higher Pitched sounds) around me so they level out my range of hearing.
There are some people who are "completly" deaf, where as, they have no residual hearing in those cases hearing Aides usually do not help and it is often rare that a cochlear implant will help much either. A good example for this would be in an Older movie that if you can Find it I would definitly recomend watching it, the title is, "Your Name is Jonah" IT is about a child who was born with profound hearing loss. Ask your teacher about the movie, it might be a good one to watch as a class, if not that one, a Documentary was done a few hears ago about the Cochlear Implant called "Sound and Fury" it might help your understand the issues about the Cochlear Impant a little better as well
I know I seemed to throw a lot at you, but I hopped it helped a bit?

An anonymous reader writes “The price of a pair of hearing aids in the U.S. ranges from $3,000 to $8,000. To the average American household, this is equivalent to 2-3 months of income! While the price itself seems exorbitant, what is even more grotesque is its continuous pace of growth: in the last decade the price of an average Behind the Ear hearing aid has more than doubled. To the present day price points are not receding — even though most of its digital components have become increasingly commoditized. Is this this a hearing aid price bubble?
