But it was interesting to discover last week that industry giant Electronic Arts is bringing The Sims to Facebook, and it reminded me that a couple of weeks ago I was scratching my head when PopCap unveiled the “first ever social adaptation” of Plants vs Zombies on the leading Chinese social networking site.
EA didn’t give away much detail about The Sims Social at E3, but obviously your digital denizens will be able to interact with those of your Facebook buddies. EA promises humour, romance, mischief and creativity.

Over 100,000 Facebook users have already indicated they “like” the concept, but time will tell whether players will enjoy flirting and pranking as much as tending virtual crops and buying chickens in Zynga’s phenomenally successful Farmville.
Meanwhile, PopCap says almost one million Chinese gamers have already signed up to a Plants vs Zombies page on social network Renren.com.
The social version of the hit casual game features new game modes tailored to playing with friends, including a Rampage mode that has a two-minute non-stop zombie attack.
The games have prompted Screen Play to wonder what makes a game suitable or unsuitable for a social media version?
Obviously anything that could feature a collaborative element is well suited, as is anything that can be enjoyed in quick play sessions and has a scoring element that can be shared with others in an online leaderboard.
But just adding the ability to spam your friends with your latest high score is a sure-fire technique to reduce your numbers of online friends rather than improve your social status.

You can get HIV from blood contact. If you get a dodgy blood transfusion, share needles or otherwise get HIV blood into yourself somehow- this is a possible means of transmission of HIV.

What could be a bigger issue in the great debate about Zionism than the question of whether Zionists may be doing more harm than good for Jewish interests around the world?
