The US Supreme Court affirms lower court rulings when they agree with them.
They apply a test of constitutionality to see if the law meets the standards. If not, it's thrown out.
Think of it like this…
A teacher in a classroom makes rules for her classroom. (actual lawmakers)
The principal of her school has oversight of those rules. (lower courts)
The school board has the final decision on rules IF they come to them. (Supreme Court)
For instance, Miss Teachem makes a rule that all students who are late for class have to stand under a neon sign that says "I was late!" until lunch.
Little Billy is late, has to stay under the sign and when he gets home that night he tells his mom. She's outraged and goes to talk to Miss Teachem about it, saying she doesn't want her son to be humiliated. Miss Teachem says she's sorry, but that is a classroom rule and it can't be bent for any student.
Billy's mom goes to Principal Crankypants, who completely agrees with Miss Teachem's rule, even though it's kind of iffy in the code of conduct.
Billy's mom then goes to the school board, who looks at the code of conduct for teachers, sees something about not humiliating students and agrees with Billy's mom. Miss Teachem can't use her neon sign any more. (But don't worry, she can't get a reprimand either, the teacher's union won't allow it.)
It's an oversimplified example, but you get the idea.
Now please tell me this isn't for homework!
OH! One more thing! The Court likely will pick one element to rule on and it may not even be the exact one that the person is complaining about, they try and do as little to forge new definitions and precedents as possible. In my example, rather than decide the practice was bad, they could say using neon signs in a classroom is bad and shoot the rule down because of that.

And yet simply voting sincerely does not disempower the two party system. The media decides how many viable candidates we are presented with, not us. No amount of sincere voting will have any effect on that. The 2 party system will be here as long as the USA exists in its current form, and as long as its here you CAN vote against.

“If you are a private user this isn’t any problem. Just download the two files, install it. You can change the language under Tools – Options – Language settings – Language. But what if you are to install LibreOffice in a larger scale? Companies, organizations and public authorities can’t install LibreOffice individual on each machine. Most IT departments uses some kind of installation tool like Zenworks or IBM Tivoli. No matter which you need to know some insight knowledge to succeed. In this article I will demonstrate some techniques using simple batch scripting but you can probably ‘translate’ these demonstrations to your own tool.”

Usually only 12 jurors and perhaps 3 or 4 alternates are picked for a trial. However many more will be called into the court room to be questioned by the judge and the attorneys.

You are referring, of course, to the 'Supreme Judicial Court' of Massachusetts, which was formed in November 1692, though it was then called the "Superior Court of Judicature". (The name, but not the basic function, was changed by the Massachusetts State Constitution of 1780, which went into effect in 1782.)
The timing of the formation of this court and its connection with the Salem Witch Trials is almost an accident of history.
James II had suspended the colony's charter in 1684 (for failure to pay duties under the Navigation Acts). After he was deposed in the Glorious Revolution of 1689 an effort was made to obtain a NEW charter. One finally went into effect in May 1692 — new Governor William Phipps and prominent clergyman Increase Mather, who had worked to gain it, brought it to Boston at the time.
The new charter meant government institutions would now need to be set up — some new, some like the old ones.
One of the FIRST orders of business turned out to be setting up SOME sort of court to try to witch cases, because even the jails of Boston were starting to be filled with the accused — quite a surprise for Phipps. The first court he set up specifically to try these cases — a "Court of Oyer and Terminer" — met from June to October, and ended up executing 20 convicted of witchcraft. But during the summer doubts and opposition grew, and several influential leaders (esp. Richard Brattle and Increase Mather) wrote and counseled Phipps to stop the trials, at least in the form they were following, which included a large role for dubious "spectral evidence". He suspended the court, but needed to decide what to do the accused (indicted) who had not been tried.
At this point the decision to continue the building of the judiciary (court system), including the setting up of a special court for particularly serious cases and for appeals. This was named the Superior Court of Judicature. Though the Chief Justice of this court, William Stoughton (also the Deputy Governor), was one who had sat on the earlier Court of Oyer and Terminer, others who had seemed too quick to convict (such as Hathorne) were not included. ALSO, this court was specifically instructed NOT to consider "spectral evidence" — the sort that had been the key to nearly all the earlier convictions. (When the later cases were tried early in 1693 almost all were not convicted, or had their cases dismissed. Phipss pardoned the few convicted…. and the trials came to an end.)
The following page provides a very helpful summary of the FUNCTIONS of this court, as well as its history
If you wish to see a little about both this and EARLIER history of the Massachusetts judiciary, check the first four pages of this pdf:

I don't think that is a good idea at all!!! Dogs need exercise at least twice a day, that means he would need to be walked that much! Most people think, because a dog is small, it doesn't need as much exercise as a bigger dog, but that's not true at all!!!! If your friend can not care for the dog properly then he shouldn't get one!!! He'll only make the dog miserable. Why doesn't he get a cat, that way it doesn't need to be walked and can use the litter box.
