There's no point in going to the doctor. There is nothing they can do for your hearing damage. Only thing you can do right now is wear ear plugs to let the cells rest and regenerate. How long it takes to recover depends on the extent of damage. Could be a week or two, or could be never.

Cell phones and hearing aids are a topic that is really coming up in a lot of discussions lately as those that are deaf and hard of hearing want to get more in on the cell phone generation in terms of ease of use and emergency benefits among others.Personally I�m not deaf or hard of hearing, though my girlfriend might disagree with that last one.

I myself have a 65% hearing loss in my right ear and a 55% in my left. I depend on my hearing aids to get me through the day; I thank God for them. People dont’ realize how hard it is to be hard of hearing, to wake up in the morning not being able to hear clearly; to have to turn up the TV volume to MAX and still can’t hear. It’s a blessing that hearing aids were invented.

When it's due to accident it's not possible to restore (husband had same thing) so all you can do is amplify to whatever degree possible. Your hearing will still be distorted because of the damage. You might be expecting too much of a restoration to your hearing. If you have hearing aids then you have already been tested.

You should keep the headphones down below 85 decibels as anything in this range or above can cause gradual hearing loss you can tel if the headphones are too loud if a friend is standing next to you and can hear the music also.
