Here's a general answer.
One of the biggest advantages of the bailout in the short-term, clears the level of uncertainty in the credit market and stimulate lending. Banks will start lending to each other and make credit available to consumers to make current payments or purchases. Right now, with no bailout the credit market is seized up. Banks are worried that other banks that want to borrow money will default on the bank-to-bank loans. This is because the toxic loans that are outstanding at some of the trouble institutions and banks have little or no value to assigned to it so lending banks can't determine the level of solvency of the borrowing bank.
At a higher level, it will be hard to find or create a market for something with little or no value so no exchanges can take place. A bailout will ease the nerves of the global market to start making appropriate rules and policies such as CEO pay ceilings, tax adjustments, mortgage qualifications…etc. allowing time to fix the underlying problems with sub-prime mortgages and other related financial vehicles. At least that is the hope, to ensure these underlying problems are fixed not just the symptoms.
The disadvantages are many and have long term effects since there are cascading effect of troubles when there is a bailout. The most obvious problem is that the money to buy these toxic loans (i.e. loans with no or little value) has to come from somewhere, if the government buys them it comes out of the taxpayers pocketbook. The state of our economy with its already bloated deficit will get larger. As the deficit grows the value of the US dollar drops.
My answer here is really glossing over the problem, it is really much deeper than that if you want to get into the technical issues such as mark-to-market accounting rules and such. So I would encourage you to read up on the papers.

A Contempt Hearing means that you didn't do something the court ordered you to do. The DA is asking the court to find you in Contempt and punish you accordingly. Pack you toothbrush.

I swear by EasyCap as a solution. It takes composite and S-Video Inputs. I have yet to see a PC come built with a Video input so that's what I use for my Video Displays at live events. It Is possible to get Video cards that do it but for cheapness and simplicity EasyCap.
