I was thinking the other day about changing my cv and instead of listing ‘my publications’ start listing the papers that cite my papers (first order) and those that cite those first order papers (second order)) (or some quantification of that sort based on ‘order’). +1 on low pressure and keeping your cool. We tried the “don’t wear pants” thing (not necessarily in the backyard, just around the house) and had only mild success, and many accidents with it. My biggest pieces of advice are to start whenever they’re eager to sit on the potty (or 19mo old is doing this now and having some successes), be low pressure, don’t sweat the accidents, and remember that it’s probably going to take longer than you expect.

No there is no way to force yourself to remember a traumatic event. Your mind is similiar to a camera. It has recorded what happened, but it is only going to release those events as your mind and your self can deal with what happened. So what I am saying is that it comes out in bits and pieces over time. Also, you might want to talk to a therapist about MPD or Dissociative amnesia, Dissociative Identity Disorder.
Even if you did do hypnosis there is no guarantee that you would remember then either.
