Most of them are quite simple to implement from the technical point of view and even contain “SIMPLE” in the title. Does it mean that it is also simple to build a working VO resource using those standards? Yes and no. “Yes” because the standards are indeed simple, and “no” because usually one needs to implement a lot more than it was thought in the beginning of the project so the time management of the team becomes difficult. In our presentation we will start with a basic case of a simple spectral data collection. I believe it is a requirement of all hospitals accredited by JCAHO to have a M&M – Morbidity and Mortality committee. This committee reviews all adverse events. By-laws of different hospitals vary, but in one of the hospitals I was associated with, adverse reports from M&M were referred to the Patient Care Committee, and that was the committee where a doctor was called to justify his or her actions. The committee could approve or disapprove the justifications. Adverse reports could result in temporary or permanent suspension from the hospital staff, or the loss of particular privileges, such as use of the operating room.

A Coronor's Inquest is generally held when there is reason to believe death was due to a felony or possibly a misdemeanor. I have no legal expertise, but malpractice is a tort, not a felony or misdemeanor.

I would hope, and I do believe, that there is a difference between my personal intellectual jarring caused by my expectations of my graduate education not meshing with my experiences there, and my behavior as a professional in my chosen field, ie, what I did with that jarring sense. I think you have a really important point, Cecily, but I don’t think that was at all what I was talking about in this thread. I would summarize my thoughts on this thread as “I didn’t get what I expected out of graduate school”, but I don’t think that statement has anything to do with who I’ve become as a librarian.

a professional advice at 300$ is quite difficult, add a few bugs and buy a D40 from Nikon, add a few more and get a D60 or a D80 that are sold to clean last stocks.. If you go for a click 'n go pocket gadget, get a Panasonic LZ8 or some Canons in the same range for 100$. Take the leftover and buy a good photoprinter.
A low budget ormid range pocket has never anything professional anyway, they are what they are with there small captur devices. Just on edvice, avoid higher pixel count then 8 mpix. They destroy the qualitty of the shot to flatten the noise once it's abit dark or shady.
If ever you can, go dslr.

Remember, countries are but imaginary limits. With that in mind… Banks could supply the currencies. Insurance companies could develop around those systems; provide analysis to prevent fraudulent actions, etc. It’s not like we can’t come up with an efficient market system to convert the currencies. To my eyes, this prevents one guy from owning the whole market and creating derivatives out of the ass. As if a bank debauches it’s currency; another one will outcompete them.
