i have heard midrange is the worst but sound pressure in the bass regions is extreme, you would think that the ears membranes the vibrate could be violently shaken with bass, i mean if we can blow out windows with bass.

Eric, it must have been a shock to wake up to the sudden deafness in your only good ear. In the end the ENT doctors really have no clue as to what causes Sudden Hearing Loss. They need to do Differential Diagnosis before they treat anyone. In August of 2008 I woke up with severe Sudden Sensorineural loss in my right ear. Word recognition is 0% but it’s not as bad as yours. I am convinced it was a toxilogical cause wich caused free radical damage. Injections of Prednisone did not work.

Just some thoughts. I don’t think it’s accurate, as the comments the original poster embedded in this video suggest, that “Wireless Blue Tooth headset will transmit radiation to the head”. Isn’t it more accurate to say that any Blue Tooth headset emit their own radiation and not transmit radiation from the phone? Under those circumstances even if you were to quit, you would still have had a good chance in securing unemployment benefits (constructive discharge). Jot down the specific instances of the porn/fighting etc., and that the boss knew about it. Also tell them that you were retaliated against for reporting the incident.
I think your boss is not so much concerned about the unemployment; as he is about a potential law suit by you involving hostile working conditions/sexual harassment. You need to contact the EEOC office where you reside, I think you may have a good case against them for retaliation as well.

Generally, hearing aids from a doctor are of better quality than those who aren't. The audiologist knows you better than these other people do, and know what is right for you, and what isn't.
I have my hearing aids from my audiologist, and I have never had any problems with it personally. Even though it's pricier, it's worth it. I don't trust these adverts. Anyway, good luck, and ask your audiologist for more information.

Hate to break it to you, but hearing is fundamental in nursing.
You need to be able to use a stethoscope with accuracy, and sometimes there is background noise which can make it difficult even for 100% hearing. You need to be able to hear when people call out for you as they don't always use a call bell. You need to hear unusual sounds or faint alarms that might be pointing to something much bigger.
I think you might be able to work in an area of nursing like research or administration, but I'm not sure you'd be able to make it through nursing school with a hearing loss.
The best thing to do is contact the nursing schools directly to see.

Okay the deal with ipods is that the further in your ear the earphones are the louder the sound hits your eardrum. So the ipod has brought this issue out as they are commonly used with the small earbuds. It is fine to use the small earbuds if you are not blasting the volume on the music.
OSHA standards for noise exposure for workers in a factory are that the worker can be exposed to an 85 dB sound for 8 hours. So if the sound is louder they need to wear ear protection. The formula continues and you can safely listen to a 90 dB sound four 4 hours, a 95 dB sound for 2 hours etc. Some examples of how loud things are.
Average conversational speech is 60 dB
a dog barking is about 75 dB
a piano is about 80 dB
a helicoptor is about 95 dB
a Lawnmower is about 100 dB
So the moral of the story is. Don't let all the talk prevent you from enjoying your music. Be sensible don't use the volume all the way up. Don't listen all day long at loud volumes. Short use should be okay. Better safe than sorry so you should always wear ear protection when around a lot of noise when using power tools and mowing the lawn
