once the hair cells are damaged they are damaged. there is no magical-medicinal cure for a sensory/ neural hearing loss.

buck up and get your self some hearing aids. if you have a high frequency loss. make sure they have directional microphones and at the very least 8 channels so the audiologist has greater programming ease.

Depending how bad it is you may not get a waiver at all. I would call a recruiter and see what they think.

Current hearing threshold level in either ear greater than that described below is disqualifying:

(1) Pure tone at 500, 1000, and 2000 cycles per second for each ear of not more than 30 decibels (dB) on the average, with no individual level greater than 35 dB at those frequencies.

(2) Pure tone level not more than 45 dB at 3000 cycles per second or 55 dB at 4000 cycles per second for each ear.

(3) There is no standard for 6000 cycles per second.

Current or history of hearing aid use (V53.2) is disqualifying.

News that Google had competition for a bundle of patents being sold by bankrupt Nortel Networks surfaced a week ago and now it’s official; a consortium of companies including Apple, EMC, Ericsson, Microsoft, RIM and Sony won the multi-day auction with a bid of $4.5 billion. According to Reuters, RIM contributed $770 million to the effort while Ericsson is on the hook for $340 million when the deal closes, which is expected to be in the third quarter of this year. What they’ll do with the over 6,000 patents and patent applications covering everything from wireless to optical to semiconductors isn’t immediately clear, but what won’t happen is Google using them as leverage to stave off the patent trolling hordes. Before any of that happens, the sale has to clear US and Canadian courts which is why a joint hearing has been scheduled for July 11th, so expect plenty of words — and probably a few more cross licensing agreements — from the involved parties by then. its no there music like that guy answerd, cause bands might play songs at a higher tempo etc ..

some bands its ear plugs and possibly for the big bands like metallica, it could be all the band members instruments but turned down so they can hear everyone else cause it can be loud being next to the amps etc.

so yeh It's so they can hear their own instruments..
Loud instruments and screaming fans make it hard to hear if you're hitting the right notes or not.

It's typical to have family planning meetings or service plan reviews every followed by a court appearance every 6mo. If the parents are doing really well, and it looks like the child may be returned before the 6mo, they'll move it up. The other reason for more frequent court hearings is the parents lawyer. A really aggressive lawyer can petition the court more often in an attempt to get the child return more quickly.

With our first case we were in court every other week because Dad's lawyer was very thorough and insisted that Dad be able to prove his progress to the judge. In every other case, we've gone to court every 6mo.

the place where you are plugging in the headphones isn't the only place the sound is coming out. That usually happens with the headphone outputs on the front of computers because the sound card doesn't recognize any audio outs other than what it physically has. Try using the speaker output on the back of the computer if possible (only if it won't get you in trouble – and definitely don't mess with any other cables). That will plug you directly into the sound card and fix your problem.

Another idea would be to turn down the master volume (usually found on the desktop or a button on the keyboard) and then, using the headphones in the same audio out you were using before, locate any volume buttons or dials. You may not even need it, as that output may have a set volume it'll play at.

I suffer a Senorineul Profound Hearing loss on my left ear do to a Fever when i was born. I wish there was a Surgery that can help restore my hearing that I never got to experince. Noise induced hearing loss is based on these principals
Intensity Level of Noise (decibel) vs Time Exposure vs Frequency.
Rule is the longer exposure in high levels of noise at those frequency the chance of noise induced hearing loss is to occur.
Like radiation the less time exposed as the higher rate of radiation occurs.
All noise producers produce sound in different decibel and frequency range, example is a electric motor hum versus a jet aircraft engine vs rifle shot vs drill vs lawn mower vs IPOD vs football/hockey/baseball/concert. Some are frequency specific (narrow band), some spread out ( broad band)
Any noise over 85dB can be harm-full with prolong exposure, so all ways, use hearing conservation products. There are products for every use and situation.
Yes, exposing mice for a x period and y noise level at z frequency will produce a specific noise induced hearing loss and that would show specifically on a audio-gram or after dissection of the hearing hair cells where areas are burned out.
They are looking at combinations of possible drug and noise protection therapy's but all ways use hearing protection at all times.
