Eric Pickles, the new local government secretary, has long hugged the Tory flagship borough’s leader Stephen Greenhalgh close. But they don’t agree on everything. As Shepherd’s Bush blogger Chris Underwood reports, Pickles is taking steps to curb “propaganda on the rates”:
He’s just announced a toughening up of rules governing taxpayer-funded council newspapers, such as H&F News, which he calls “Town Hall Pravdas”. The goal is to apparently ensure a robust and healthy independent local press can continue to scrutinise the activities of local councils.

Our own Council is one of the worst offenders in the country, with Conservative MPs slamming H&F News for being a propaganda organ dressed up as a legitimate newspaper.

Seeanna is correct! Google "The Abaconian", that's the bi monthly newspaper. You will have to fly to Miami, Ft Lauderdale or Palm Beach, then catch a smaller plane to Marsh Harbour. Probably the best areas are Hopetown on Elbow Cay or New Plymouth on Green Turtle. There is a water taxi service between many of the islands, so you can stay on one island and still visit many of the others. You will like it in the Abacos!

Well, normal cells found in our bodies are constantly dividing to provide replacement for the ones that are also constantly dying (apoptosis) in our bodies. These are all normal procedures.
Cancerous cells also divide continuously, the difference is that they don't die (apoptosis) and just continue to grow. Thus, they are abnormal in that they are not programmed to die. This is when the masses of cells form.
Sometimes cancerous cells can invade your lymphatic system or blood system and this is how they travel to different parts of your body. This is known as metastasis. Metastatic cancerous cells are malignant in that they are not self-limiting and can spread throughout the body.

I don’t know a whole lot about the pros and cons but based on personal experience, I think it’s kind of like insurance. Chances are, you’ll be paying out money and never need anything but if your ever needed to negotiate something or had some kind of problem and needed union support/help, it would be good to have that available.

No. Cancer is a result of a DNA mutation. The mutation has to happen in the body. Cancerous tumors are results of accelerated mitosis inside the organ. So no, it is not contagious.

IDC and Gartner have once again released dueling reports on the state of the PC market and, according to their numbers, the landscape’s looking a little different. Gartner estimates that overall PC shipments during Q2 of this year increased by 2.3 percent from the same period last year, more or less concurring with the 2.6 percent global increase that IDC found. Things are looking a bit bleaker in the US, however, where quarterly year-to-year shipments are down (5.6 percent for Gartner, 4.2 percent for IDC), but have increased from Q1 of this year. On the corporate level, HP continues to dominate global shipments according to both reports, followed by Dell and Lenovo, which overtook Acer for third place.
