Expert: Habits can lead to hearing loss
Hearing loss is a growing concern for doctors and patients alike. A recent study in the Journal of American Medical Association showed a 30 percent rise in hearing loss among teens in the last 15 years.

Here are the readings that knocked me out in various ways. They are chronological. Kenneth Goldsmith, Concordia University, January 2010 Goldsmith hit this one out of the park. It was a talk (based on the introduction to the new conceptual writing anthology) not a reading, but it was full of energy, inspiring. Absolutely necessary. And I’m still hearing feedback from it. You can basically do anything that does not require a phone. I'm hearing impaired also, and as long as I steer clear of jobs requiring long phone hours (i.e. 911 dispatcher like your past position, customer service rep, telemarketer) I've never had a problem. I've worked in a variety of different positions, industries, and settings, and the key is just making sure that you are up front with your supervisor and anyone else you feel needs to know.
Every single supervisor I've had has offered to work with me to ensure I have the tools to perform my job to the best of my abilities, hearing impairment or not.To avoid any discrimination on the basis of disability, employers are bound by law to provide you with reasoanble accommodation. For instance, my supervisor reviews conference calls with me after the fact (in a very respectful way) to ensure nothing was missed. Also, I primarily use email to communicate and am exempt from all those "pick up the phone and talk to someone instead of impersonally emailing them" lectures.
Basically, you can do anything. Follow your passions and be up front about your hearing impairment – that's the best advice I have.

For tax purposes, the partnership does not exist. You and your brother report any income, gains, or loses in the same manner as if you earned them directly. The partnership must REPORT earnings and each partners share. Each partner then pays taxes on their share. Taking money out or leaving it in has no effect on the amount or timing of taxes.

You have the same problem as millions of other teens! My son is in there with you!
Get up earlier in the morning in steps and go to bed earlier in the same increments. Example, tomorrow get up at 10am and keep moving through the day so you will be tired and ready to sleep. Then go to bed at midnight. Work on that for about 5 days. Then bump it up to 8am and go to bed at 10pm. Save the final adjustment for the 5 days before school starts.
Lay off the caffeine in the evening, get some exercise and if a shower relaxes you and makes you sleepy, use that to your advantage also.

It’s becoming increasingly common for companies to have employees who work in locations other than directly in the office. This can include anything from traveling employees who are on the road most of the time as well as instances when employees do the majority of their work from home. In fact, there are many companies that currently operate without an actual office location and entirely with employees who work remotely.

Contact your local Sertoma Club, a wonderful non-profit organization that's focus is on Speech & Hearing. Perhaps thru Chamber of Commerce would have a contact name. My club has paid for hearing aids & TDY machines for those in need in our own community. Also provided the local hospital with the new equipment to test new born babies hearing. Budgets are being set now. Contact a member in Sertoma & tell them of your plight.

As a clarinet player myself, to play it successfully one has to hear the tone well. Clarinets are very finicky and the slightest change can throw off your tone and you need to be able to hear it. Sometimes – depending on how much brass there is in the band – it can drown out clarinets – so she'll have trouble hearing herself play, I bet.

I think most of the videos I've seen from the EV channel are very poor in instructional and technique quality. There are channels that are much better for martial arts instruction than EV. There may be some videos of value, that's just the impression I remember having. Frankly I'm just too impatient to sit through the ads that precede the videos these days.

I'm speaking on the Army side here but I know the Marines are no different. For one you are NOT going to qualify for Scout Sniper School out of boot camp…period. In order to become a Scout Sniper you must be in the Infantry first…usually as a line dog (rifleman). After you have demonstrated mastery of basic Infantry skills, superior to your peers, you may have the opportunity to try out for and be selected as a member of your Battalion's scout platoon, usually after a couple of years. If you demonstrate the basic skills required to be on a sniper team you MIGHT be selected to attend sniper school from which you will be lucky to be among the 40% to graduate. Once again this is a highly competitive venture and Scout Snipers are the "cream-of-the-crop" Infantrymen.
This duty is 90% physical/mental and %10 marksmanship skills.
