There already are laws against negligence and everything else in the world anyone could ever possibly imagine. Reactionary laws lead to oppressed societies. We need to think of ways to reduce the number of laws, not add to them.

Noah — in the big sweep of history, all of these squabbles between Israel and the Palestinians will amount to very little. The game is already over, and was probably over from the moment it was conceived.

there really isn't a way to just split it cleanly, if you or someone you know has crocheting experience, you can cut the afghan and then crochet a border around the cut edges so that it doesn't unravel, but I would be very careful to make sure that it is done in a way that will both honor the piece and be very sturdy

Wikileaks releases 250,000 U.S. diplomatic cables. The whistle-blower site’s previous release of Afghani and Iraqi war documents inspired a lot of criticism, much of which was understandable even for those who did not agree. After all, lives were (arguably) at stake. The current brouhaha over the diplomatic cables just seems like pique on behalf of the embarrassed governments. Wikileaks left its previous web host over an alleged denial-of-service attack. It moved to Amazon, who promptly dropped them. And now it’s lost its domain name. Sponsor So . . . Possibly contributing to the death of civilians in Afghanistan and Iraq is naughty, but we draw the line at embarrassing politicians and bureaucrats. Shameless much? 27 April …2:48am
Syria’s ambassador to the UN Bashar Ja’afari said violence by the demonstrators and “some armed groups” taking advantage of the situation had forced authorities to respond with force.

They [some armed groups] get within the demonstrations and started shooting on the military men and the security forces. This is why there were many casualties.

Ja’afari said Syria can “undertake any investigation by our own selves, with full transparency”.

We have nothing to hide. We regret what’s going on, but you should also acknowledge the fact that this unrest and riots in some of their aspects have hidden agendas.

If you demonstrate peacefully, you are protected by the government. If you recur to violence then any government in the world, in order to maintain peace and order, would utilise its forces to stop violence and vandalism and aggression against buildings as well as against innocent civilians.

    1. Try keeping your costs and expenses at minimum. For example, if you notice that you have days where there almost no customer and it has been that way since you started, then you might consider not setting up shop for that day. You can also shorten your operation hours a little bit.

    2. Once in awhile offer promotions or sales so that people will be encouraged to come to your salon.

    3. Keep customer service excellent even if running during a recession. Doesn't matter if you're an expensive salon or not, if you have good customer service then you will have a loyal customer base who will stick with you no matter what.

    4. Sell hair-related products in your store as an added income.

    5. Maximize your manpower. If you can trim down your workforce or at least assign to them other tasks aside from those that they are already doing, the better. This is so you don't have to hire additional people. You can all help out in cleaning the salon instead of hiring a janitor, or rotate shifts so that one can be a receptionist while others do other work.

I can suggest this. Wash with some natural soap, rinse well & hang oustide in the sun, If you have a nice garden with a nice patch of grass, lay on top of the grass, the sun will do the rest of the work for you , by bleaching out the stain the natural way. Also wait for a nic hot sunny day, and every so often sprinkle cold water over the the yellow spots, This is the old fashioned way, my great grandmother did this with with all her white clothes , when ever they had stain´s & they all came out. I do the same. I my whites are whiter than white

the magnificent moral impulse, the search for truth and goodness, is only a necessary but not a sufficient condition for the successful remaking of a country. It may be enough to bring down the ancien regime, but not to overcome, in one fell swoop, a deep-seated authoritarian national political culture. The roots of the democratic institutions spawned by morally charged revolutions may prove too shallow to sustain a functioning democracy in a society with precious little tradition of grassroots self-organization and self-rule.
