Well, I have lived here my entire life. I am from near DC originally, and my wife is from the far off Eastern Shore.
But I take since you are going to University of Maryland, you would want to be reasonably close to it?
Generally Prince George's County is one of the worst . It has a lot of crime and poverty, the UMD campus is not so bad though, but that isn't really a place to live if you are married with kids. Montgomery County is a strange mix where some southern areas like Wheaton are nearly as bad as PG county, where as Bethesda is one of the most affluent and educated in the US. Northern parts of MontCo become progressively more suburban and quiet, eventually becoming rural. Areas to look for with safety in mind are away from the concentrated urban centers, but still near enough to get to necessities. Some areas out towards Columbia and Clarksville are also nice. Not sure what else I can offer, but this website has a good map of where crime tends to concentrate:

Yamaha are usually good, but I'd see if you can find a music store that lets you try lots of different ones out. The quality is irrelevant if it doesn't suit your embouchure.
I use a 5RV Lyre which is an incredibly good buy, and good value for money (I got it 5 years ago for about £50.)

A couple reasons come to mind. This is often referred to as dieseling.
You aren't allowing enough time for the engine to return to a low enough idle speed or the initial idle speed setting is too high.

never pour that down a pipe! no matter what the bottle says, that stuff wrecks havoc on pipes!
the pros told me to regularly pour 1 gallon of bleach (any brand) down all my pipes. let it sit for at least an hour, then run plenty of HOT water through. i do this about every 3 months.
bleach will eat up anything in the pipes faster than anything else.
when you get that done, throw some cut up lemons into your kitchen sink and run the disposal.

Melatonin tablets would help. They're available in the vitamin section of the grocery store. Melatonin is a natural chemical that your brain produces, it makes you feel sleepy. Chamomile is also excellent for relaxation. Look in the tea section for some night time tea, I've found those very useful.

Two leaking tankers on Wednesday forced traffic on the Mile 2-bound side of Apapa-Oshodi Expressway to a halt.
