Niehoff, which was the case involving a high school junior girl named Avery Doninger. Back in 2007, she criticized school officials for not allowing a student concert, and said on her LiveJournal blog that the “douchebags in central office” had cancelled the event. Niehoff was the principal, and was granted “qualified immunity” from Doninger’s suit. This is the part of the law that shield’s public officials from legal liability when there is no clear case law. Well, big changes on the horizon for Pinterest! We’ve confirmed reports that Pinterest co-founder Paul Sciarra is indeed leaving the company. And it’s complicated: While Sciarra, who took a six week hiatus from pinning and company matters a few weeks back, is listed on the company’s SEC documents as CEO, it was co-founder Ben Silberman who through his actions unofficially took on that role. With Sciarra’s departure Silberman will become Pinterest’s official CEO. We’re hearing that Sciarra isn’t clear on what he’ll do next, and may be considering an EIR role at a top tier VC.
