hey i work for cingular, and what you need to do is call 800-331-0500 (which is customer care) and have them send you the programming for your phone, the problem is that it isnt a cingular branded phone so it doesnt have the media net browser in it, once you call in have them send you the update via ' Mobile Device Manager' and after installing the sent update all those problems will go away.

My opinion is a phone should be a phone, but–
Turn down the volume, you have it way too high.
The problem might very well be a defective mic in the handset. Not sure what kind of warranty Cingular has, but a manufacturer has one year, it sounds (pardon the pun) like a manufacturer defect in the mic to me, take it to the store,

There are two effects that tend to cause this.
1. Low frequency sounds (e.g. drums and bass guitars) have long wavelengths (10 meters or more). Like any other type of wave, sound waves are not "blocked" by objects that are smaller than the wavelength, so houses, trees, etc do not have much effect, though they block the higher frequences.
2. It the wind levels are low, then at night a fairly large "temperature inversion" gradient can form in the atmosphere, with the cooler air at ground level. Because the speed of sound depends on pressure (which is also affected by temperature) this acts like a lens, and sound waves that start off travelling at an angle up into the air are bent down again. The size of the "lens" can mean the sound is focused onto a "ring" around the source. Presumably, you are living the right distance away from the Bowl for this to happen.
I have often observed this effect in the daytime in summer, on the sea coast. On a hot day with no wind you can often hear people talking on small boats half a mile out to sea quite clearly, though you can't hear people who are much closer but also on the shore line. In this case the hot air rising from the land spreads out into a layer above the air that is kept colder by the sea water and forms the "lens".

it depends on the chopper…I worked in Army Aviation for 6 yrs and you really cant hear choppers coming in(excluding the Chinook..they tend to have a distinct "whopping"souind).. by the time you hear them they are either right over you or just flew by….I would hate to be the enemy!

Hey, from looking at your goals above i'd recomend swimming as your best option. Running can end up leaving you too skinny, Crossfit is great but WILL build muscle. Swimming is great for cardio, helps you lose weight and tones every muscle in your body.
Martial arts are also great for toning up and losing weight. If you have a local MMA or boxing gym then get down there!
