You can go back as far as you want to correct the error, but if you are due a refund, you will only get refunds for tax years 2005 and later (assuming you correct the error before April 15.)
There is a three year limit to receiving refunds for amended returns.

This probably isn't what you want to hear, but sometimes the other kids feel abandoned when a parent starts a new life with someone else. This could cause them to act out in rebellion. It also might matter where they live.

The main one is, "If you're choosing the sex of your baby, you must be adopting."
Generally, it's a bad idea to strongly prefer one sex over the other ahead of time simply because you can't control the outcome. Supposedly, many mothers are disappointed in their very own child – even if the child is "perfect" – because the child is not of the desired sex.
Statistically, older men are more likely to produce girls, younger men more likely to produce boys – but the statistical difference is so small that it's hardly worth mentioning.
