Establishing my Irishness and my (former) Catholicism is something I can, and am happy to do (albeit not for McBride and not “to order”) with stunning ease. I just refuse to be bullied into it and furthermore I don’t think it materially relevant. I am going to try to get off this thread now. I’m tired with it because it’s descended into the usual farce all threads McBride gets involved in end up at. These threads always end up about me and my identity. McBride hasn’t any right to demand personal information of people. He does it ALL THE TIME when he get backed up and run out of ideas, not just to me but to anyone who gives him an argument. His latest victim is Spencer. There have been others. It’s tiresome, it’s boring. it’s tedious beyond words. Now his latest demand is that I furbish him with a list of Irish writers who support my positions (they exist but they’re few, he can find them himself, I’m not doing any leg work for him). The inference being that I’m guilty of stepping out of, the Irish, line. He’s right, Ireland is exceptionally anti Israel and it also has a tradition of anti semitism, which, if he were half as well read as he loudly and frequently claims he is, he should know about (suggested reading “The Limerick Pogrom” Biographies of Arthur Griffith, Oliver St John Gogarty, Oliver J. Flanagan TD, Sean Russel, Francis Stuart, William “Lord Haw Haw” Joyce etc etc). So apparently I’m something of a traitor myself, breaking as I do from an ancient and much loved Irish tradition. I dissent from the “Irish position” on Israel, Jews and a lot else besides and I’m glad I do. And yes I do take a strongly neoconservative line on a lot of issues? Is that something I’ve tried to hide? What does that make me? A class enemy? Does that absolve the likes of McBride from engaging in any exchange more noble than name calling and smearing? He seems to think so because it’s in name calling, insinuation, and smears he takes refuge when he’s run out of arguments, i.e. all the time. Have I ever name called and badgered myself? Yes I have but not in virtually every discussion I’m involved in. See this thread is exactly where McBride wants it to be, the gutter. It’s where he took this one. ORLANDO, Fla. — A hearing will be held this week in the case against Casey Anthony, court officials announced on Monday.On Thursday, Judge Belvin Perry will hear arguments on a defense motion that asks for approval of DNA testing for two hair samples.
Each of the tests would cost $1,042, which if approved, would be paid for with taxpayer money.
The hair in question is the sample found in Anthony’s trunk that has the so-called death band on it, suggesting Caylee Anthony’s dead body was in the trunk at some point.
Anthony was declared indigent in March, meaning defense costs are doled out by a state agency.
Anthony’s defense team and the Justice Administrative Council, which distributes state funds for indigent clients, will hold the hearing with Perry by phone. The hearing is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m.

I have no idea what you are asking, but it seems like you want to know why people who can hear sometimes act strangely around deaf people. To that, I say it is quite like when an English speaker attempts to speak to a non-English speaker who looks like they should be able to speak English, before realizing they cannot. It's instant embarassment, and quite confusing. You don't know exactly what to say at that point but, "sorry."

get yourself a pair of STRONG earplugs; they not only block the sound, but you can hear yourself to make sure you are in tune. I do this in Jazz Band, with 20-26 people in it. It helps A LOT!

There won't be any problem exercising the option. Although the options are initially written by individual investors, they are done through their broker and a clearing house so the options are underwritten by both the broker and the clearing house. The original writer of the option would be given a margin call long before he became unable to fufill his obligation and even if he couldn't, his broker or failing that the option clearing house would honor the contract.
Of course the more probable that the stock price will drop, the higher the put option premium will be. The volatility is how the probability of the prices are estimated the low volatility of VTI is indicative that the put option has a lower probability of being needed by the buyer. The downside of selling the option early instead of exercising it is that doing so will not protect against further declines in price, of course it also has the advantage of leaving you with the ETF shares if you are still bullish on VTI. If it's a catastrophic collapse that you are trying to protect against, you would just hold the option through expiration, exercise and decide then whether or not to resume the position in VTI. Each option contract gives you the right to sell 100 shares, although you have only 288 shares to sell, if the share price is less than the strike price of the option, you could easily buy 12 shares at the lower market price to sell to the put option so there is no downside to buying three puts other than the added premium cost, buying 2 put contracts means that you only have the right to sell 200 shares to the contracts at the strike price and you're taking your chances with the remaining 88. It' difficult to sell an option for a fair price in the last thirty days before expiration because the assumption is that the seller does not have the means to exercise so the buyers will low ball to reap the benefit of an in the money option for themselves.
If you're close to expiration, it's better to exercise at expiration. Remember that when you sell, the buyer must have an incentive to buy i.e.: they want to make money too, the Black Scholes equation only gives you an upper bound for the price and the buyer will want a cut of the intrinisic value of the option hence close to expiration, you will always be realizing less than you would by exercising regardless of how low the volatility.
