Thanks for your questions. I was born with hearing loss but was not identified until I was 3 almost 4 years old. Had my first ear infection and they found out then. The cause of my hearing loss is due to EVA or LVAS. As a result my loss was progressive. At 6 years old I had a mild -moderate high frequency loss and now in my left ear I have moderate to profound loss (corner audiogram) I received my cochlear implant 3 years ago this month after I loss all my hearing in that ear. Can you tell me more about your hearing loss? My son is 14 months old and he has severe hearing loss in his left ear and severe/profound in his right. I’ve been wondering how his speech will progress. Your speech is normal, and I was wondering if you were born with the hearing loss, and when you first had you CI implanted. Thanks.

I'm not sure about any cell phones, but you can get a Phonak Smart Link FM system, which has blue tooth technology, and you can plug your cell phone into it, which will send the signal directly into your hearing aid. You'd have to buy a reciever to attach to your hearing aid as well. This can be expensive, but if you're planning on using your phone a lot it would be worth it. I would suggest you call Phonak's FM division and ask them more about it. Good luck!

Hearing voices/Mood swings – Common words heard– Lets kill him/her/rape. So you have more than one entity speaking. Happy then crying? this is the classic demonic example.

You can't wear a digital prescription hearing aid without being programmed. It won't sound like ANYTHING. It would be like wearing eyeglasses without the lenses. You will not save money in the end by purchasing a hearing aid online… most audiologists will charge you approx $1000 just to program it and individually for each programming session after that. Your best deal is to purchase from an audiologist and then get programming for free. The purpose of the remote is for programs, for instance, 1. normal program, 2. noise, 3. phone etc. Programs need to be set into the hearing aids by an audiologist, they aren't already in there. The audiologist knows how much power you need and which style would be best for your hearing loss… don't try to do this on your own. BAD IDEA.
Also, doesn't matter if it has a volume control button- an audiologist has to turn it "on" for it to work. sorry!
