Deafness is of two types. Conductive deafness and nerve deafness. Conductive deafness occurs when continuity of sound travel from atmosphere to ear drum is disturbed. Closing the ear,wax in ear, pus or blood in ear can cause this. Nerve deafness is when Auditory nerve is effected by disease. Diabetes, tumors and genetic are some of the causes

Ever since I got the hearing aids, I get these weird facial spasms whenever I think about talking with Emerson. I hope it’s not serious.

In some ways, Beethoven's deafness impeded his ability. In his later works, there is a marked revisitation of counterpoint and other principles that he learnt earlier in his career. Having said that his deafness may have forced him to extend those principles and increased harmonic complexity may have been the result. It is always difficult for us mere mortals to truly understand the mind of the genius.

Absolutely the best, if you are evaluated as an appropriate subject, is the cochlear implant. You need to read up on it, and it is a surgical implant, but it is what they use nowadays for even little children with profound hearing loss.

The device transfers the sound thru your scull towards the healthy ear on the other side. You will be able to hear sounds from your deaf side again. Good luck!
