Only a few years ago, it was not possible for hard of hearing people, especially those with severe hearing loss, to hear but a faint word. Everyone has heard of hearing aids, but exactly how do they work? And scientist’s essentially, digital hearing aids are made up of one or more microphones, a computer chip called a digital signal processor, and a receiver that amplifies the sounds to the ear drum. A little know secret in the hearing aid industry, is that many components in various hearing aid companies hearing aids come from the same component manufacturer, so in many cases, the only difference between the hearing aids from one manufacturer versus the other is just how they assemble the components and how they program the digital signal processing chip. There are many shapes and sizes of hearing aid devices available in the market today that include body worn devices, Behind the Ear (BTE) hearing aids, In the Ear (ITE) hearing aids, Receiver in the Ear (RTE) hearing aids, In the Canal (ITC) hearing aids, Bone Anchored Hearing Aid (BAHA) and Eye Glass hearing aids. fuwogs, the presupposition is that people judge people, just because she is a controversial person I dont judge her (like so many do), though your question is interesting- do I have no right or inner obligation to judge and discern events, people and circumstances? I do love her conviction and passion, certainly her talented voice as well

“Of course, there’s more to Montepulciano than wine. And while it may not be able to compete with Siena or Pisa in terms of art and architecture, Montepulciano has enough to reward the patient visitor. In the Middle Ages and early Renaissance the poliziani, as the town’s citizens are known, put most of their energy and patronage into civic hubs like Piazza Grande and the embellishment of churches.
There are some lovely artworks in the latter – my favourite being two early Madonnas, the first a 14th-century fresco fragment in Sant’Agnese showing the Virgin breast-feeding the infant Christ, the second the so-called Madonna of the Pillar in the Duomo, by Sano di Pietro: a tiny, exquisite panel painting of a trustful Mary nestling her head into the prettiest redhead Jesus, chubby-cheeked and wide- eyed, clutching a little bird, perhaps a goldfinch.”

What are the limiting factors of all of these planets? Is there enough space, enough water, enough resources?

I do not think there can be an exact answer to this.

This was the act supporting the construction of the interstate highway network. It was probably one of the major achievements of the Eisenhower presidence.

What effect it had on the economy? A profound one, as more and more people and goods could move more and more easily across and around the entire nation.

As to the auto industry, it was truly Heaven-sent. All those wonderful interstate roads beckoned people to drive on them, and people did, in the millions.

    Anna,
Actually it's not hard to learn to play the baritone ukulele. You may have trouble stretching your fingers for chording tho'. The baritone ukulele is the first four strings of a guitar. So, if you know anything about a guitar, or have one, remove the two bass strings and you have a baritone ukulele. Any song with guitar chords will work for you b/c you won't have the two bass strings to mess with.
And yes, you can learn off Youtube. You can also learn to play a regular ukulele off Youtube also.
    Have fun,

  24. Diario di bordo Says:

“Diversity is a major question in evolutionary biology. In particular, why is there so much diversity, so that the tree of life manifests a multitude of morphs? Might there not be some supreme replicator which emerges from the maelstrom to conquer all before it? This is actually the scenario which unfolds in much of science fiction, with monomorphic grey goo eating everything in its path (a more aesthetically differentiated variant of the super-species emerges in Brian W. Aldiss’  Helliconia Winter). As it is, liin thisfe on earth does not seem to be converging upon an optimum phenotype for all individuals. In contrast, it seems to be going in the opposite direction broadly speaking (thinking on billion year scales), with the shift from the monotony of communal cyanobacteria to the riotous diversity of tropical forest biomes and coral reefs. There are many ways you might be able to explain this diversity. Temporal and spatial heterogeneity produces perpetually shifting selection pressures, resulting in transient morphs one after the other. Negative frequency dependent selection, whereby the fitness of a phenotype runs up against its own success. This dynamic is one of the drivers of the Red Queen Hypothesis; the evolutionary arms race in some cases witnessing the resurrection of old techniques against which defenses are no longer recalled. Then there is the possibility that the lack of natural selection as an efficacious evolutionary force could allow for the diversification of phenotypes through  random drift. Finally, it may simply be that the gusher of mutation is powerful enough that novelty overwhelms selection and drift’s attempt to pare it back. A new paper in Nature offers up another possibility.”
