The largest type of hearing aid is the BTE, or behind the ear, and is often the choice for kids with hearing loss because they are much sturdier than the other varieties. These models feature advanced electronics that sit within a case behind the ear. Sound is sent to the ear canal via specialized tubing and other technology. In addition, the BTE aid helps those with more severe hearing loss, since it has greater amplification abilities. These hearing aids come in an array of colors to match any lifestyle, skin tone, or hair color.
The price of hearing aids varies greatly depending on the type chosen. The cost ranges anywhere from $500 to $6,000, depending on insurance coverage, warranty type, overall features, optional accessories, the presence of telephone coils, microphone advancement, and whether the patient needs one or two aids. There are a variety of places to purchase hearing aids as well. Various hearing aid manufacturers will sometimes sell their product directly to the consumer; otherwise, they can be purchased at select dealers. The Internet can be a wonderful source to find hearing aids at lower prices, even through reputable companies. I can't add much to Jayne's post so I won't even try! But I wanted to say that Bono has really given awareness to the issue. If that's all he does – raise awareness so everyone in the world knows their plight – that's more than most other people have done. Honestly, that's probably his biggest goal. (I've worked in the area of fund-raising before and any "fund raising events" are actually meant to raise awareness and are not expected to raise funds.)

Exactly how long HIV virus survives outside the body depends on a lot of factors such as temperature, presence of fluids/moisture etc. On the other hand, HIV infected blood stored in a blood bank can remain infective for weeks or as long as the blood is adequately stored. No. AIDS is the result of infection by a virus called HIV. The virus has to pass from the body fluids of someone already infected to someone else.
Mixing blood that doesn't already have HIV won't create the virus. However if someone has HIV in their blood and a small amount of their blood is able to enter your bloodstream, HIV can get into your body that way.
It's important to remember that not everyone who has HIV in their body knows they have it.

Actually, I don’t notice any of the social fuzz missing because I never used it. But I notice that everything in Reader got whiter, bigger (more wasted space), and lots of lines between things went away. It’s not that big of a change in functionality I guess, but it sure looks different. I’ll survive, and I’m sure I won’t actually move.
