The waterproof button offers assurance that your loved one will have the button with them at all times. As humans age the sense begin to diminish. This effect of nature can be very dangerous for an elderly person living alone. In addition to the button and voice intercom, the base station has sensors that are designed to detect a change in temperature, whether it goes too high or too low. If the temperature goes too high, there is a serious risk that the residence could be on fire. For example, if an elderly person requires a hearing aid, they usually remove the aid when they go to bed. Without the hearing aid they might not be able to hear a smoke detector when it has been triggered. If the temperature is to rise to an abnormal level, and there is no response from the customer, than the security service will alert the local authorities to dispatch immediate assistance. With an emergency response system such as this, families can feel more secure about allowing an elderly relative to live alone. They can rest assured that if their needs emergency assistance, it will be provided by a reliable security company.

By the way, if you need it to help you get through school, there is no guilt in that. If you are diligent in school, you will soon afterwards find a job and move off the system. Sometimes the word welfare has a stigma to it, which comes about because some people get on it and never leave. You don't sound like that type of person. Although I'm in the states, I needed some financial help for a time, so I used the program that is there for just that purpose. I graduated, got a job, and no longer am on that system. If you don't abuse the system, again, there is no guilt in taking a few years benefits from it – that's what ideally it is there for in the first place – to help people get into the work force.

Well in my country in order to find a healthcare worker that works in aged care and is trained and registered with the Nurses Board I would look in the Yellow Pages – the phone book for businesses – under the section of Nursing Agencies.
It may be best to go first to the Nurses Board in your state and ask for their recommendations on which level of skills you require – would an RN satisfy the position or would a Nurse Practitioner fit the job.
Enrolled Nurses and Care Aides work under the Direction of a Registered Nurse.

I have done and still do it. Take a course at a vocational center either for Patient Care/Home Health Aid/Certified Nurses Assistant. Also, need courses in Hiv/Aids, CPR (everyone), First Aid (everyone), and even Alzheimer's course for 3 hrs. Then- sign up with a Nursing Agency and go out for Patient Care. Also- you can apply with a rehab. center that rehab.s mentally retarded people, and learn as you go. Either way- it's enjoyable.

I live in Washington state and I am a social worker. Make sure to check with your own state as each state has their own rules.
If you live together the state most likely will not give you cash assistance. You can find housing assistance but it most likely will not be through the welfare office. You should look into your city's energy assistance program. These programs provide help with electric bills, but many times have low income housing sites around the city. Second you should contact your cities housing authority. They too have low cost housing like section 8. There is usually a waiting list, but the time is going to go by anyway, so why not get your name on the list. Sometimes, like in my city, there is a long list, and then a new development is built and they turn the waiting list into a lottery system. Again, the time will go by anyway.
Unfortunately, the welfare doesn't give much credit to families trying to stay together. They know the economy is bad and that people are willing to work, but you will just be rolled into the same catagory as the people who don't want to work.
If I were you, I would move back in together as long as everything in the relationship is good. One of you needs to find a job or have both of you get back into school. If you are both in school and at least one of you has a job for 20 hours a week, the state will pay for your daycare. You may have a low co-pay like $25.month.
Also, I know that food stamps don't pay your bills and I know they most likely are not taking you through the month. I would encourage you to utilize some of the local food banks and possible get on the WICC program that provides nutritious essentials for your baby. And do not stop searching for work. Your local DSHS might provide you with temporary cash assistance so make sure you keep a log of every place you have applied for work. They can ask your for it.

Wow what a d***k!! I have WIC and food stamps because it's people like HIM who take our jobs to where we can't afford anything!! Now if you were an illegal immigrant I would take his side, but yeah listen to the other person. She's got the right idea. WIC, foodstamps, medicaid, etc. Go to your local health and welfare and fill out an application. Make sure to bring in you and your wife's ids, ss cards, proof of imployment (your last two pay stubs), proof of address, you and your wife's birth certificates, and I think that's it. If you don't take these, they won't help you as much and will just ask you to come back at a later time. They will be able to tell you. Or if anything, call them first and ask what the income limit is for applying for these services. It really is quite easy though. Good luck!!
