I'm Italian; here when someone is in your situation, usually the firms look for an agreement, in order to close the matter with the hearing.
So this hearing should not last so long; and maybe you'll be entitled to compensation in a short time. It also depends on you and your requests.
But usually, I repeat, this conciliation hearing is the only thing you'll have to do to reach an agreement, so there won't be anything else after it

According to the Michigan SOS DMV law, a first
license is $25 unless you get the Federally
approved 'Michigan Enhanced' drivers license.
This one allows you to go outside the country,
and return without a passport, or passport ID.
The Michigan Enhanced license cost is $45,
and only selected offices may issue this one.

Best advice if you're dead-set on negotiating:
Hire a REALTOR (out of your own pocket for say +-$500), and have them prepare an offer on your local Board of REALTOR-approved forms offering whatever terms you wish to negotiate (i.e. maybe 3% of list price and 75% discount on options…..whatever you think is good). Maybe your agent will suggest a fair offer. You cannot expect the builder to pay your agent any commission since they didn't "procure" the sale, and you could be out of pocket if they didn't accept. They may counter offer you on their own forms and "meet you in the middle." They might accept it. Or they'll reject it. At least you did your part in trying to get a better deal, and you know you pushed them. A new home builder is just like a regular seller in the resale market….Don't "put them on a pedestal."
If the deal doesn't work out, maybe the REALTOR will waive the fee if you let him/her represent you and take you to other communities where the builder will pay your agent…..just a suggestion to solving your dilemma. It's a great buyer's market, so there's nothing wrong with going after a good deal!

You could have a look at http://www.logmein.com but i think what your trying to do is a bit excessive, better to set up his laptop as you being an "administrator", from there you can restrict what he can actually do on the laptop. I imagine your main concern is the internet, so i would start looking at "parental control" options within the operating system (i assume its vista on a new laptop).

Since you clearly have no idea what is needed, you are best served by not doing this yourself.
You can install a 120 v on / off switch to the 120 v feed circuit to achieve what you want. However, if people can push the door bell style button to open and close the garage door, they are most likely able to turn the feed circuit switch on when they need it.

You didn't provide the details of your hearing loss or your age, so my best guess is you're "technically" deaf because 'hard of hearing' is generally associated with 'mild' and 'moderate' groups.
Mild (25-40 dB) – (mildly) hard of hearing
Moderate (40-70 dB) – hard of hearing or deaf (it's common for one to say they're "deaf in one ear," though)
Severe (70-90 dB) – deafened or deaf
Profound (91 dB or more) – deaf
