Excessive noise exposure is a very common cause of hearing loss, and is one of the most common occupational hazards in the U.S. Repetitious exposure to loud machinery over time can decrease hearing sensitivity. Even a single loud sound heard within a close range can instantly damage hearing! Many have already acquired irreversible damage and others are exposed to dangerously high levels of noise..

I'm a level headed spontanious girl who wants a guy to hangout with. I'm a loving girl with a quick witted side. More than anything being honest and trustworthyness are important. I have got a good sense of humor, I always have my friends smiling. Ask me any thing, I'm an openbook.

In our minds, we are all under 40, slim, full head of hair, all our own teeth, no aids for seeing or hearing, no aches and pains. However, this is the real world and we are wasting time seeking a fantasy that does not exist. We are all real people, most of us with a few pounds to lose, glasses or hearing aids, or whatever, at our age. All I want is active, kind, good sense of humor, and a positive attitude. Is this you? It's a beautiful Friday and tomorrow could be even more beautiful if you meet the right one. Maybe one whose charm and intellect you find very attractive, who is honest, caring, and even tons of chemistry. Am I that person? No way to find out except to meet. Are you the one? Maybe......

Have you ever gotten your jaw stuck open? Many people say that mine really should stick now and then since I speak way too much. On a more serious note, a stuck or painful jaw, or even hearing loss may have a common source. The jaw actually not flexing on the ball and the associated jaw pain might actually result from tmj or temporomandibular joint disorder. A chiropractor or maybe even massage therapist may provide a tmj treatment. But, better yet, a dental professional ought to offer the treatment for this condition. Can you envision exactly what that boxer's jaw feels like after a well-landed right cross? Well that could just be similar to the pain of a person enduring tmj condition. Please send me your pic and I will send you mine. I would like to be friends first then who knows. I am a Single lady, I have a Professional Job, and everything I need except LOVE. I love going out for dinner, movies, Football, Hockey, and sometimes Nascar. I enjoy going to church and being a Christian, I would prefer someone who goes to church, and is a Christian Guy. Not into the Players, Not into Hooking up, or whatever, Just a Real Nice Lady trying to find LOVE. I don't need any guys who are into drama, are still Married, or having Mental Problems. If you are a Nice guy, I would prefer a man who is a Firefighter, or in the Police force, they all seem to have a Good Heart, I look forward to hearing from you and Have a Great Day!!!
I have to do a 5-minute presentation to my colleagues at an upcoming work retreat, no visuals allowed. We can talk about anything we want. I have several ideas but can't settle on one. Which of these ideas do you think would be most interesting and/or appropriate? - Building a relationship with my father (my parents divorced when I was young and last year I made contact with him for the 1st time since the divorce). It's been pretty exciting and nerve-wracking at the same time. I can do this but worry that it might be too personal or make people uncomfortable? My colleagues and I are all friends (in the process of getting to know each other) but I'm still not sure if this would be appropriate or not. - Living with a mild-to-moderate hearing loss (I've worn hearing aids since I was 6). I haven't been as upfront about this with my colleagues as I'd like to, and I can't get more upfront about it than presenting it, and everyone would know once and for all. - Using the Mental Bank System...

Hearing aids are divided into two categories—digital and analog. Depending on your requirement and budget, you can buy hearing aid easily either at on-site or online store within your budget.

After having symptoms like dizziness, ear fullness/hearing loss, tinnitus, facial weakness, tingling in arms: I went to the er because I was misdiagnosed 3 different times by doctors. Turns out I had TMJ and it does cause hearing loss. There's muscles that tighten up in your ear from you clenching your jaw, which causes muffled hearing and tinnitus. I can't believe I waited this long and it was only TMJ. I'm also sensative to sound, and it's not fun. I bought mothguards though and hopefully they will work. But the hearing loss isn't permanent. Go to your dentist and ask them to make you a mouthguard, either that or go to walmart and buy the 20 dollar ones (which is what I did.) I wish you good luck!

The Next-Generation Portable we've been hearing about for a good five months now has finally been owned up to by Sony. It is, as rumors had it, called the Playstation Vita, and the many features we've heard about (dual touchscreens, cameras, Near, and so on) are all official.

Really need more information to know what your chances are....

What kind of disciplinary hearing?

How is it that your accusers are the ones doing the investigation? Is this a union we are talking about?

Check out the Nation Labor Relations Board website. NLRB investigates unfair labor practice allegations made by employees against employers or unions. Good Luck!

You shouldn't have a problem passing the test.
Even if you were completely deaf in one ear, you could pass.

If you can hear the doctor speaking to you at 6 feet, with your back turned, using BOTH ears, you will pass.

This is the primary test for the FAA Class 1 Medical Certificate. (and 2&3 as well)

If you fail the test, you can elect to have an audiometric test done.

Here are the actual requirements:

"Demonstrate hearing of an average conversational voice in a quiet room, using both ears at 6 feet, with the back turned to the examiner OR pass one of the audiometric tests below :

Audiometric speech discrimination test: (Score at least 70% discrimination in one ear) or:

Pure tone audiometric test: Unaided, with thresholds no worse than:
                                             500Hz 1,000Hz 2,000Hz 3,000Hz
                      Better Ear 35Db 30Db 30Db 40Db
                      Worst Ear 35Db 50Db 50Db 60Db"

Great question. Will boomers change this? RT Why are hearing aids so expensive, and reading glasses so cheap?

Usually if you have inner ear damage you will also have hearing loss. But if your question is about getting into the Marines, then trust your audiologist. The Marines will give you the same kind of "push the button when you hear the beep" test and if you're in the normal range you pass. Inner ear problems can affect your balance, but that's not what they're testing for.

if your in the car for example the person sitting next to you can talk in the microphone and you can hear them better. Because their mouth is closer to the microphone than your ear there is less noise from car etc. making it easier to hear them.

There could be a number of possibilities going on such as endometriosis (just using endometriosis as an example only) but the only way to know for sure what is going on is to see your doctor for further evaluation of the situation to see what they think could be going on.

Your health insurance. You might contact the Lion's club in your area I know they do glasses. There may even be an organization that helps the hearing impaired. Ask at a hearing aid provider they should know.

I've been listening to loud music since I was 8. pretty much every single day in fact. i always loved music & its an addiction to me. & I listen to it loud. I'm 18 now & I do get headaches now but,I haven't noticed hearing loss yet. I'm trying to tone it down now before I do any serious damage
