Hi sweets, fitting pointe shoe sput me through grad school! Let me give you a quick and dirty run through.
When the dancer comes in, first size her, and ask some very important questions:
    -How long is her class
-How much of class is at the barre vs. floor
    -How often she has class
-If her studio requires her to use a certain pad
-If she will use single or double elastics

When she tries them on, especially if its her first pair, put them on her yourself, because she won't understand what she's looking for. Make sure she has the pad in that she plans to use in class. It helps to put the shoe on your lap or have her step into it, then flatten out.
Once she has them on, she'll probably complain that they're too tight…which they may not be at all! Have her put one foot into pointe, and pinch the back of the shoe. There should be a slight, and i mean SLIGHT, bit of fabric to grab, no space between the hell and the back of the shoe. Have her hold the wall or a barre, facing it, and stand in first position parallel. Have her CAREFULLY roll up onto pointe. The back of the shoe may pop off, only because they arent sewn yet. Check both shoes for that gap, and take note of how far into the box she goes when she's up. Then have her demi plie in 2nd position. Her toes should be right up to the front of the box while her knees are bent, but not curled over. Her big toe and baby toe should be rgh up against the crown and the sides of the box, but not liftng. That is to say, her toes shouldn't be overlapping. She may feel slight pressure, especially on the baby toes, but as a dancer yourself, you know it softens considerably. If she is aware of the box all around ehr foot but everything is laying flat and compact, its generally a good shoe to start with.

As far as fits for certain feet:
-wide feet with short toes (like mine…) usually do well with gambas or merlet emprientes. chacot veronese works well, too.

-Narrow feet are good with capezio pavlovas and freeds

-Gaynors are highly customizable, and everyone loves them cause theyre pretty, but they rarely fit well. you'll know right away if they dont fit your customer.

-When in doubt or when you have some priss, try a bloch serenade. Most people are comfortable in them.

A big hint, when you get more comfortable with fitting, don't second guess yourself! Youre going to get soem prima donna who insists the shoe doesn't fit and blah blah blah. Just walk into your stock room, stand there for 45 seconds and walk back out with it. 9 times out of 10, it will "miraculously" fit. When you have a good fit, its a good fit, and you'll know it!

I think the best you can do is to use a weighted least squares fit, with the weight for a given point proportional to the expected or calculated uncertainty for that point. The error bars, whatever they represent, do not ensure that the best fit will lie between their limits, and it's quite normal in practical situations to find that a few points are outliers, indicating some form of interference during the measurement.

I'm Italian; here when someone is in your situation, usually the firms look for an agreement, in order to close the matter with the hearing.
So this hearing should not last so long; and maybe you'll be entitled to compensation in a short time. It also depends on you and your requests.
But usually, I repeat, this conciliation hearing is the only thing you'll have to do to reach an agreement, so there won't be anything else after it

Last week, the subcommittee which I chair held a hearing on monetary policy and rising prices. Whether we consider food, gasoline, or clothing, the cost of living is increasing significantly. True inflation is defined as an increase in the money supply.  All other things being equal, an increase in the money supply leads to a rise in prices. Inflation’s destructive effects have ruined societies from the Roman Empire to Weimar Germany to modern-day Zimbabwe.
Blame for the most recent round of price increases has been laid at the feet of the Federal Reserve’s program of credit expansion for the past three years. The current program, known as QE2, sought to purchase a total of $900 billion in US Treasury debt over a period of 8 months. Roughly $110 billion of newly created money is flooding into commodity markets each month.

Cancel Error ??? Post your code….

I am not recognizing "CancelError" however there is a clear method in the err object. [ err.clear ]

err.clear is used to reset the error code that was generated. When you use an On Error Goto Err_Handler command program execution branches to your error handling code. If your error handling code executes a Resume or Resume Next or exits the Sub or function the error is automatically cleared.

There are times when you may want to manually clear the error code. One example of this necessity would be if you used a goto statement to branch back to a point in your code (maybe further along in the code or to start at the begining again). In any case using a goto statment to return from an error handler doesn't clear the error even if you correct the original problem that caused the error in your handling code. (Suppose you had a divide by zero error and you assigned a one to the divisor the original Div/0 err code is still set until its cleared)

If the err object is not cleared it will be outstanding and will be handled by the next error handler it encounters. Example if you nest the calling of Subs & Functions an un resolved (not cleared) error will be passed back to the calling function.

A button click calls Sub1 calls Function2 which calls Sub3 which then calls Sub4. In Sub4 an error happens which you correct BUT you use a goto which branches to the exit sub command. By using the goto you didn't automatically clear the error code that was set

The error is passed back to each calling sub or function all the way back to the Button Click event

If an error handler is present along the return back it will be called to handle the error. If an error handler is not present it will be passed back yet again to what ever code called it and in this example the Button Click event. If an error handler is still not encountered and there are no more outstanding sub/function calls then the error will generate an unhandled error to the OS and crash your program. Or cause an error handler to fire where you may not have code to properly handle that type of error

To Avoid any of these issues Always use a form of the resume command to return from an error handler or let the error handler exit the sub or function. This way the erro code is automatically cleared.

Using unconditional GOTO's in an event driven language like VB is considered BAD form and can lead to spagetti code and buggy software.

It has been a long time coming and an articulate plan. USA sold ALL of it's surplus to the Catholic Church several years ago.

Monsanto started Frankenstein's monster some years ago when they wanted the monopoly on seed. Due to farmers being suckered into using grains that will grow in Roundup soaked soil that kills off the micro organisms that break down the soil into minerals and such, not using cow manure and such – just throwing radioactive material labled as fertilizers … plants stopped growing in dead soil.

Answer to that – more genetically engineered seed … now we are faced with global warming and dead soil, dead soil inviting in new diseases that are already running rampant and wiping out entire crops. Wheat crop for this winter is already estimated at 80% crop FAILURE …

News has shown this for several years and made warning; but, as long as people can go to the grocery store and buy what they want – they don't seem to hear that there is a major famine in the making. It is like selective hearing – when there is no food left … everyone will have their belly screaming at them … "YO … WHY YOU NOT BEEN LISTENING – NOW SEE WHERE YOU GOT US???"

If you were smart – you would get some extra things and not tell your neighbor. Your neighbor may think that your son or daughter would taste just fine with some of your rice and dehydrated carrots. Don't believe me … maybe you should read Deuteronomy chapter 28 … the whole chapter deals with what is going on today – in detail.

The condensed version of Deuteronomy 28 can be seen in Isaiah 24:1-6 … just leaves out the part of people eating their own children for want of food and of course, the end result of the nuclear war is shown clearly in Isaiah 24:1-6, Deut 28 though shows it in detail – even with the rain in that day being of dust (fall out) that comes down upon your heads until you are destroyed …

So – if you read Deuteronomy 28, you will see the message has been there for thousands of YEARS … it is really not a new thing – and you can rest assured … if you read Matthew chapter 24, you will see that this time that is coming WILL BE WORST THAN ANY OTHER TIME KNOWN TO MAN …

Question for you now – what will you do? I have been taking heed of this for over 20 years … my children will not become pot roasts. Be amazed what a bucket of wheat and a hand grinder can do for your health … with a touch of water and some oil to fry it in …

    Peace;

Judge Denies Occupy Wall Street Request to Return to Zuccotti Park ABC News Occupy Wall Street protesters have no First Amendment right to camp out in a lower Manhattan park, a judge ruled, barring them from returning to the encampment they had called home for two months. Judge Michael Stallman of New York State’s supreme court released a statement after hearing oral arguments earlier in the day. Lawyers for the protesters had obtained a temporary restraining order from another judge earlier, allowing the group back into Zuccotti Park. However, police barricaded the park and stood guard over the property. “The movants have not demonstrated that they have a First Amendment right to remain in Zuccotti Park,” Stallman wrote, “along with their tents, structures, generators, and other installations to the exclusion of the owner’s reasonable rights and duties to maintain Zuccotti Park, or to the…
