Hmm… Aspirin does that as does ear wax. Aspirin would have ringing for a few hours and only after you've taken it. An inner ear infection may also cause ringing, but it would usually last longer. So does meningitis, but you'd have other symptoms. That's pretty much it. You can try putting some saline solution in your ear and letting it sit for 3-5 minutes. Then, gently swab with a q-tip. If that doesn't help, see a doctor.

I think actually that what you're talking about may be the M & M conference–the mortality and morbidity conference. It isn't a "hearing" in a judicial sense, and it is attended by hospital personnel in that specialty, not a "board," but it's a way problems that have arisen may be discussed by the staff and things altered to prevent similar problems from arising in the future. Sometimes it's just an unusual presentation that's discussed, so that staff are educated to consider that diagnosis.
Were you watching ER last week? *g*

I’ve had trouble with TV, though I have a device that broadcasts bluetooth. I think it’s more of a TV problem, but I can’t really be sure. Works great with phone, music, computer, etc.

Has multiple functions as people say it drowns out the crowd so the musicians can hear one another/receive messages from the backstage.
It also allows the singer to hear him/her-self singing so they know they are in key, ever wonder why you think you can sing great but when recorded & played back it sounds horrible?

Since it sounds like a middle ear problem… you need lots and lots of power with less compression. Phonak makes the best powerful aids without the whistle. Talk to the audiologist about phonak and have them make the hearing aid very linear.
January 7th, 2011 at 7:51 pm
because they do not know how to talk to them through signing, and most people do not carry a pen and pad with them..so if they can not ask them what they were going to they just tell them there sorry for bothering them and walk away, most hearing impaired can read lips so they know what your saying.but if they can not speak you will not understand..now most of the hearing impaired can talk their voices are a bit flat but you can understand them and most hearing people who have never been around a hearing impaired person would not know that..the only exception may be some one who has been deaf since birth they may not be able to talk as well as some one who use to be able to hear..

once the hair cells are damaged they are damaged. there is no magical-medicinal cure for a sensory/ neural hearing loss.
buck up and get your self some hearing aids. if you have a high frequency loss. make sure they have directional microphones and at the very least 8 channels so the audiologist has greater programming ease.

remarks: Stop me having a baby ?

Should my hereditary disability stop me having a baby?
For Jono Lancaster, who has Treacher Collins syndrome, the decision about whether to have a baby or not is agonising.
At the age of 26, Jono is happy with how he looks, but the genetic disorder that affected the way his facial bones developed in the womb has caused him years of anguish.
His condition means he has no cheekbones – so his eyes droop downwards – and he has problems with his hearing, so has a bone-anchored hearing aid.

It's hard to know unless you know more about the genes. It could be a dominant trait that was passed to you but not your siblings, or a recessive trait that your siblings would have, too, but is not obvious in them. My sister has something that my grandmother has, but no one else does – not mt grandmother's siblings, my dad's siblings OR any of my other siblings or my cousins. DNA can be strange like that so it really is hard to tell who may or may not have certain genetic traits.

Profound is more severe than severe. Both a person with a profound or severe hearing loss is deaf. And person with any degree of hearing loss – even mild – is deaf. But most people with mild to moderate hearing loss call themselves hard of hearing. Some people who are hard of hearing do not think of themselves as disabled.
A person who also uses sign language and considers themselves culturally deaf – capitalizes the D in deaf and may or may not consider them self to be disabled.

Glasses are almost always given for near or far vision, and reading glasses. Eye sight does decrease somewhat with age.
Hearing loss, especially, high tones invariably decreases with age – males more than females (So the man who can't hear his wife calling him might actually be telling the truth!!)
Congenital and childhood hearing impairments relatively common due to ear infections, meningitis, etc, etc.
Hearing aids are almost invisible these days too.

Tim, my whippet, has killed 10 grey squirrels. Some people approve; others don’t … A few weeks ago a new dog-owner in our park, hearing me call my whippet, recognised the name. “Oh – Tim,” she said. “Is he the one who kills squirrels?” Yes. Yes, that would be Tim, and before you say anything, I’m sorry and ashamed. Unless you don’t mind, in which case isn’t he fantastic? In our part of urban east London Tim’s record is exceptional: at 18 months he has caught and killed 10 grey squirrels – in one 10-day period he managed three. No other local dog even comes close (I did hear of a pair of whippets nearby who were supposed to be more effective, but their owner assured me that the stories were much exaggerated). “He must be fast,” people say. Well, he’s a whippet, but he’s by no means the fastest whippet in the park. So his success suggests that he is the most bloodthirsty, or the most focused. When he sees a squirrel he freezes and after a few seconds begins to vibrate, sometimes so…
