New Data Show Zometa(R) Enhances Impact Of Chemotherapy On Reducing Breast Tumor Size
New data released demonstrate that the addition of Zometa(R) (zoledronic acid) injection to standard chemotherapy before breast cancer surgery reduces the size of breast tumors more effectively than chemotherapy alone in women with early-stage disease.

I'm sorry to hear abt ur hearing loss. It's a sweet gift that we all take granted for. Don't be shy to ask people to repeat. U may want to learn a little sign language and lip reading. Have u talked to the doctors about any medical hearing aids u could use? If those hearing aids can't help u and it's more of a nerve damage then I suggest looking into having a cochlea implant. However I don't think any doctor will recommend it to u unless, I don't mean to upset u, u r virtually deaf. Then u may consider a cochlea implant which really is a medical wonder and the procedure is very easy and safe. However u should try taking care of ears as much as u can, avoiding loud decibels, wax in the ears, etc. Perhaps the damage could get better…but I don't want to give u false hope. I hope this helps. Best of luck.

To my knowledge, it won't give you brain damage. However, the wind can be damaging to your ears. Your best bet is to go to walmart and buy the large boxes of thick earplugs. You don't have to throw them away and they're pretty cheap.

I have only worn aids without the feature. I can tell you it is a bit annoying when in a noisy environment one aid gets quieter (turning down noise) and you hear a difference between ears. Sound may not be quite loud enough to activate noise reduction feature on both aids if it is on one side of you. So I think the wireless communication feature would be nice if both aids were acting the same it would be less annoying to hear the different sounds from each ear. Also the ability to localize sound in the environment is supposed to be improved with the wireless feature. Good Luck!

It’s one of the active ingredients in rat poison and you and your loved ones used it today to cook, bathe, or brush

During this economy mst employers are trying to fight the claims. Don't worry you will still probably win the case.
Hopefully you have Evidence of the porn and other issues you presented to your boss that caused the firing. But if you don't, make a time line of the upsetting incidents (include dates, times, incident details and who was involved) and do your best to write down an account of the conversation with your boss that ended with your firing.
I was fired for caring too much about an elderly client and this method worked for me. I received all unemployment benefits following the hearing and my"boss" was fired the following day.

In most cases noise exposure causes damage to the hearing centering around 3000 – 4000Hz. It is called a 4kHz noise notch. This is due to the anatomy of the ear not the nature of the noise exposure. Research has shown that this hearing loss develops with low and high pitch noise exposure.

In terms of hearing impairments, about 16 million suffer from these problems and there are 12 million who do not do anything about it, and this shows just how people neglect their ears. The most common ear problems people have are discussed below. Protecting the ear canal from stray particles is ear wax. Instead of being for hygiene there are people with glands that produce more ear wax than necessary which can cause hearing loss. Avoid from removing ear wax by yourself and let the doctor do it for you. For others swimmer’s ear becomes a problem. One mild condition is what doctors recognize this external otitis as. In order for this to happen a person should swim in an overcrowded or over chlorinated pool and then fail to dry the ears tho … Hearing Aids, Hearing Test, Hearing Loss, Hearing, Health

Since it sounds like a middle ear problem… you need lots and lots of power with less compression. Phonak makes the best powerful aids without the whistle. Talk to the audiologist about phonak and have them make the hearing aid very linear.

This will depend on your life style. Perfect hearing is -10 to 10, Normal hearing is 0 to -10 and Average is -10 to -20 dBs. Some people that are involved in Music will want a hearing aid if they are at -20 because they will be needing to hear some frequiencies more clearly.
GENERALY speaking, if you are at -30 and below in frequencies 250, 500, 750, 1000, 1200, 2000 —- You will want a digital hearing aid.
There is an American Guy in South America that I bought My Aids from. He works in Peru helping the Poor and the 3rd world people hear. He has a company called AccuToneUSA and he told me to send my Ear Impressions to Him. He build me 2 VERY nice 32 channel 64 band hearing aids for about $1200 total. These hearing aids retail in the USA for $4000 each. So you should contact him if you have any questions. his name is Doug at accutone, and his email is

I was shocked when my mother-in-law told me how much hers cost – but then I found out that they're tailored to the person specifically and can be adjusted throughout the person's life for free. It's really a good investment if you need better hearing. They're so tiny and don't just amplify sound – they're tailor made.

Hear me out, if you can. Tinnitus, the ringing, roaring or hissing in the ears that are often the first sign of noise induced hearing loss, is becoming more common in our increasingly high volume society. Out of the 50 million cases of tinnitus, 12 million of those are severe in the US based on the American Tinnitus Association. Today, there are more young people listening to loud music and because of this, there is an increasing number of tinnitus patients, according to the head of audiology services at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey University Hospital in Newark. To those who already have developed severe tinnitus, they may suffer from hearing loss in the long run and based on recent research, there is a poss … hearing aids, hearing test, hearing loss, health

Yes there are different brands. However each brand usually also has a $1000 model, $2000 model, $4000 model etc. With hearing aids there really isn't much difference among brands. Each audiologist is going to have their "favorite" manufacturer based on how much experience they have with their products. It is always best to go with something the audiologist is familiar with because they have more knowledge of what works and what doesn't work with those products. My advice is to see an audiologist not a hearing instrument specialist. Audiologists have at least a master's if not a doctorate degree. Audiologists use hearing aids from major manufacturers. My favorites are Widex, Phonak, Resound, and Starkey. Other major manufacturers are Oticon, Siemens, Unitron, and Rexton. Stay away from places that use their own brands and not a major manufacturer listed above.

Hearing Aids (HA) are very expensive. You can expect to pay up to $4000 for an individual HA if you want the latest and greatest technology available. Where do you live? I am originally from Canada and I got mine paid for by the federal government under a program to help people with disabilities get back into the work force. You may have a similar program in the country you reside.

It's hard to know unless you know more about the genes. It could be a dominant trait that was passed to you but not your siblings, or a recessive trait that your siblings would have, too, but is not obvious in them. My sister has something that my grandmother has, but no one else does – not mt grandmother's siblings, my dad's siblings OR any of my other siblings or my cousins. DNA can be strange like that so it really is hard to tell who may or may not have certain genetic traits.

Usher syndrome is the most common form of combined congenital deaf-blindness in humans and affects 1 in 6,000 of the population. It is a recessive inherited disease that is both clinically and genetically heterogeneous. In the most severe cases, patients are born deaf and begin to suffer from a degeneration of the retina in puberty, ultimately resulting in complete blindness. These patients experience major problems in their day-to-day life. While hearing loss can be compensated for with hearing aids and cochlea implants, it has not proven possible to develop a treatment for the associated sight loss to date. Researchers at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (JGU) in Germany have now developed a new treatment approach to this disease.

I found a few links that may help you. Personally, we sat our grandfather down and explained that if he didn't go in for testing grandma was going to stop listening to HIM until he did….but grandpa was really a stubborn ornery sort of person and I wouldn't recommend that approach for many people. The links are probably more appropriate for your situation.
It may help if you could get him to discuss why he doesn't want a hearing aid. They make almost invisible ones cheaper now if he's vain about it. Perhaps he doesn't want to spend the money or doesn't have insurance that would cover it. In the end there may be nothing that will convince him to get one, but good luck with your efforts hun.
