Usually if you have inner ear damage you will also have hearing loss. But if your question is about getting into the Marines, then trust your audiologist. The Marines will give you the same kind of "push the button when you hear the beep" test and if you're in the normal range you pass. Inner ear problems can affect your balance, but that's not what they're testing for.

I speak sign language and i taught myself for i am partial deaf and read lips and they always forget because it cannot be seen it is a hidden disability and the fact that i can talk makes it even harder. I am so sorry but this world is full of people who really do not care so stick to the ones who do and remember god will never forget that you need help pray for assistance each day and soon Jesus will heal us all from the devastating effects of sin and apathetic uncaring people will no more exist . may peace be with you. More important than coping (I think) is making sure that you have really good custom made ear molds to prevent further damage. Noise induced hearing loss is not recoverable, and even the best medical treatment available is never going to get you back to where you were before the damage occurred,

Cornaro lived in a state of unbroken health and happiness until the age of 102. When he died, he died in an ideal way. He was in his rocking chair. He closed his eyes, took a nap, and didn’t wake up. There was no pain or suffering, ever. His mind was clear as a bell until the very end, no senility, no memory loss. Indeed, one of the things he wrote about in his discourses was that his hearing and vision were perfect He retained all his senses.

Nerve loss can occur in premature birth, especially if there was some oxygen deprivation during the first moments. It may also be a congenital problem that was present before birth.
Infections in the middle ear usually cause middle ear problems and not so much nerve loss, so it is coincidental that you had a bad ear infection as a child and also nerve loss.

During this economy mst employers are trying to fight the claims. Don't worry you will still probably win the case.
Hopefully you have Evidence of the porn and other issues you presented to your boss that caused the firing. But if you don't, make a time line of the upsetting incidents (include dates, times, incident details and who was involved) and do your best to write down an account of the conversation with your boss that ended with your firing.
I was fired for caring too much about an elderly client and this method worked for me. I received all unemployment benefits following the hearing and my"boss" was fired the following day.
Good Luck

Today, most people suffering from hearing loss can choose to either buy a hearing aid, or, in extreme cases, have a cochlear implant placed in their problematic ear. Both options, however, have their drawbacks. Hearing aids can be cumbersome, implants can completely destroy any hearing left in an ear, and neither method ever replicates the same quality of perception that the natural ear allows. Scientists have been trying to come up with less invasive, drug-based methods to treat hearing loss, but have so far been unable to find a way to introduce pharmaceutical treatment to the deep inner ear, where most problems originate. Researchers at Draper Laboratory in Cambridge, Massachusetts, however, have recently developed a device that could finally penetrate the darker depths of the human ear, and deliver medication in a timely and measured way. The gadget, which is no bigger than a AA battery, consists of a pump and drug reservoir, and is implanted directly into the temporal bone of the…

December 21 is the darkest day of every year. This year it will be especially dark due to the last of the 2010 lunar eclipses. Thus it is the perfect day for the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to vote to take over in unsanctioned fashion the Internet — which they are currently scheduled to do. FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski has in fact conducted the entire process leading up to this unelected bureaucrat Web power grab shrouded in shadow. One of the many authoritarian facets of this authoritarian procedure has been the lack of any public hearings on the new Internet order on which the FCC is about to vote. This is a move to commandeer control of one-sixth of the nation’s economy — we should at least be given an opportunity to weigh in prior, right? Apparently not — because apparently the FCC is looking into warping beyond all recognition its definition of “public hearing” — with the Reverend Al Sharpton lending a hand. Public hearings would instead be used to drag…

Noise exposure over 90 dBA for over 8 hours is enough to begin to damage your outer hair cells in your cochlea. Over time that damage will become cumulative and permanent and result in loss from the 2-6 kHz range (higher pitched sounds). Impact/impulse noise can cause immediate hearing loss if it is sufficiently loud.
If people have to shout over the noise to be heard, its probably too loud to spend extended lengths of time in that environment without suffering a temporary hearing loss. If you're in doubt you're better off wearing ear plugs.

Since it sounds like a middle ear problem… you need lots and lots of power with less compression. Phonak makes the best powerful aids without the whistle. Talk to the audiologist about phonak and have them make the hearing aid very linear.
