Open Ear Hearing Aid Technology

[eba kw="ear hearing aids" num="1" ebcat=""]
A frequent internet search these days is ear hearing aids. Increased attention to ear hearing aids has led to much internet interest.

Of course, you should do a complete investigation on ear hearing aids. Ultimately, maKe sure you completely understand ear hearing aids. To learn more you might do further research on ear hearing aids.If you are thinking about getting a hearing aid, you probably want one that is small, that no one can see, and one that can help you hear better and is comfortable. Well, there is good news for you! New Open Ear hearing aid technology has dramatically improved hearing capabilities as well as good looks.

The Open Ear style hearing aid is a discreet device that sends the sounds into your ear in one of two ways. Some Open Ear style hearing aids use a small tube with an earbud (a soft tip) on the end that connects to your ear. A more recent innovation in Open Ear hearing aid design is the receiver in the ear delivery system. The names for this type of product vary. You may see them advertised as RIC, RITE, or CRT. They all mean the same thing, the receiver (speaker) is actually in your ear and connected to the hearing aid by a thin wire.

Using a RITE connection provides several benefits. This is so the wire cannot kink from repetitive use and it will maintain its shape. Because the speaker is actually in the ear, the sound quality is better and the hearing aid can provide more high frequency amplification. Feedback (that annoying whistling sound) happens less often because the microphone and the speaker are further apart. Hearing aid manufacturers have also developed disposable wax guards for the speaker which are easily replaced. This style results in less breakdowns from earwax.

Of the current Open Ear products using RITE technology, the Oticon Delta hearing aid is one of the most popular. Oticon Delta has a small, triangular design. Because it is so small, this hearing aid looks like it could be a bluetooth communication device or a fasion accessory. The Delta hearing aid is available in a variety of colors, some trendy and some designed to camouflage. I find most patients want discreet colors which hide the hearing aid in your hair and make it virtually invisible. However, sometimes a patient will want to make a bold statement and pick a color like Deep Purple or Sunset Orange.

The Oticon Delta hearing aid was selected as an International CES Best of Innovations 2007 Design and Engineering Award winner. Innovations 2007 recognizes the best-designed and best-engineered products in consumer technology, and is one of the most widely renowned consumer technology awards programs worldwide. The Oticon Delta hearing aid was awarded one of the highest scores in the Personal Electronics category based on its value to a user, aesthetics, contributions to quality of life, and innovative qualities.

Another popular new Open Ear hearing aid is the Phonak Audeo. Very tiny, light and discreet, the Audeo hearing aid has several features that make it an excellent choice. CrystalSound is the core of the hearing aid processor. It digitally amplifies the subtle, high-pitched sounds critical to understanding speech and makes sure nothing gets lost. Digital SurroundZoom is one the industry’s best directional microphone systems. All packaged into a cool, Red Dot Design Award winning form that combines style with ergonomics and practicality. The Audeo shape is designed to allow optimum placement of the dual microphones on the hearing aid for the best performance in noise.

Many Open Ear hearing aids can also be used for more than just high frequency hearing loss. By making a custom tip, they can be used for moderate to severe hearing loss at all frequencies. This allows even more hearing aid users to enjoy the technological and cosmetic advantages. Open Ear technology is the new breakthrough for hearing aid users.

If I understand correctly, you cannot open the file. Why not try to upload it to a free, online converter like http://www.media-convert.com and see if it can be converted to Word.

If this doesn't work, you might be able to convert it to a text (txt) file which you can open in Word. You will then have to reformat.

You can basically do anything that does not require a phone. I'm hearing impaired also, and as long as I steer clear of jobs requiring long phone hours (i.e. 911 dispatcher like your past position, customer service rep, telemarketer) I've never had a problem. I've worked in a variety of different positions, industries, and settings, and the key is just making sure that you are up front with your supervisor and anyone else you feel needs to know.

Every single supervisor I've had has offered to work with me to ensure I have the tools to perform my job to the best of my abilities, hearing impairment or not.To avoid any discrimination on the basis of disability, employers are bound by law to provide you with reasoanble accommodation. For instance, my supervisor reviews conference calls with me after the fact (in a very respectful way) to ensure nothing was missed. Also, I primarily use email to communicate and am exempt from all those "pick up the phone and talk to someone instead of impersonally emailing them" lectures. :-)

Basically, you can do anything. Follow your passions and be up front about your hearing impairment – that's the best advice I have.

You cant afford a doc eh? I recommend some home remedies my great Uncle Al did.

Take 1 tbl spoon of cinnamon and 8 oz of milk. Let it sit outside in the sun for 24 hours (1day). Then put the moisture on your cotton swab and place in your ear for 2 days straight, 3 times a day. The cinnamon creates a scratchy substance when its churned in the sun by the milk. This substance will release particles like vics vapor rub would for your nose.

Another home remedy would be to apply ben gay around your ear, but not totally in your ear. Leave and let it sit for 30mins, then place some inside your ear. It has the same effect as above but works faster.

    Are there any Famous Bloggers?

    Are there any Famous Bloggers?

Yes of course there are famous bloggers. In fact I think it is a really stupid question, here’s why!

I recently read an article in Business Insider “Can Blogging Help You Get a Job”. In the article the author suggested that despite the fact that the number of bloggers in the United States will reach 34.7 million by the year 2012, the vast majority of people could not name any famous bloggers in their field or industry.

While I do not find that surprising, I counter that with asking the question do most people know who writes the screen play for their favorite TV programs, or who the writer of their favorite movies is. I would guess that very few people remember the film title and likewise the blog name.

The author then moved on to ask the question,

“Do you know of anyone who got a job through blogging?”

Again the majority of people would have to say no, which is probably fair, however could you name anyone who has fashioned a career or built a business through blogging? What about any of these famous bloggers Perez Hilton, Belle de Jour, Seth Godin, Dan Kennedy… Have you ever heard of them? I could give you a longer list… In fact I will at the end.

The third point of the article that I disagreed with was that the author suggested that blogging was not a form of promotion, and that you would be better served in speaking to people, getting a hobby or doing charity work.

Although I agree that it is vitally important to speak with people to further your career prospects, Blogging is a form of promotion. Not only that, if you are smart, you choose the right topics and targeted keywords, you are in fact broadcasting your message to a much wider audience than you could ever speak to directly.

Not all the article’s advice is to be ignored however, as there are some great basic guidelines for those who intend to start a blog, or who are currently blogging:

    • Keep up with writing your blog.
    • Name it appropriately.
    • Stick with professional vs. highly personal content (in line with your objective)
    • Choose content that showcases your talents, knowledge, skills and abilities while providing educational, entertaining and enlightening posts for your audience

Anyway, as promised below is a list of famous Bloggers:

    1. Arianna Huffington – Huffington Post – News and opinion
    2. Michael Harrington – Tech Crunch – Covering technology start-ups and web 2.0
    3. Jason Kottke – Kottke – design, food, weblogs and New York City.
    4. Heather Armstrong –  Dooce – Prime example for building a business. Read her personal bio at
    5. Perez Hilton – PerezHilton – Delivers celebrity news and gossip.
    6. Nick Denton – Gawker – News and gossip covering entertainment, business and media
    7. Peter Cashmore – Mashable – News covering social media.
    8. Nick Denton – Gaping Void – weblog focused on original technology based cartoons.
    9. Seth Godin – Sethgodin – He writes about the post-industrial revolution, the way ideas spread, marketing, quitting, leadership and most of all, changing everything.
    10. Brian Clark – CopyBlogger – Online Marketing advice about building authority with your online presence.

As my final recommendation of famous bloggers I thought it is only apt to mention Brian Clark who is the author behind Copyblogger. Who has made a business and career out of developing his online authority to show others how to do the same.

So in conclusion do I think blogging can help you get a job? Yes!

Do I think you need to clearly define the objective of your blog? Yes!

Do I think that if you can stay true to your objective, produce quality content on a regular basis which connects with your audience so you can stand out amongst the predicted 34.7m blogs and become one of the many famous bloggers? Yes I do!

And there is where my little rant ends.
