WASHINGTON (AP) — Americans increasingly are convinced — incorrectly — that President Barack Obama is a Muslim, and a growing number are thoroughly confused about his religion.

The Defense Department forced all “war on terror” detainees at the Guantanamo Bay prison to take a high dosage of a controversial antimalarial drug, mefloquine, an act that an Army public health physician called “pharmacologic waterboarding”. I don't necessarily believe people are misspelling on purpose. I think a lot of them think correct spelling no longer matters, or they're just too lazy and unmotivated to run spell-check. Since the event of texting, etc., I realize there are abbreviations and other shortcuts taken. However, most of the time I think poor spelling is just the result of laziness or apathy.
