Why do you need a comparison? Your audiologist will be able to tell you WHICH hearing aid will work best for YOUR hearing loss and why some others won't. There is no way to really rate them as they are designed for certain types of hearing loss so you have to have your audiologist tell you which one would work best for YOUR hearing loss. Hearing aides are not like washers or cars where you can test them for routine things as they get adjusted for each individual person and some are suited for only certain types of hearing loss.

It should start out kind of boring. Mostly an announcement of what the case number is and what it is about and who is there. Then the judge will most likely just ask the father if he thinks he is the father and if he is willing to submit to a test and if there is any other situations that the court must be aware of.
You may be in front of a judicial officer or master of the court and not a judge. The court will most likely just order the test.
Some of what happens will depend on where you live but that is the basics. The court shouldn't jump to any conclusions about the situation. They will just order the test and wait for the results.
After the DNA test comes back you will need to file for a declaration of parentage. That is where the court declares him to be the father if the dna test says that he is.

yes they can. Basically nerve damage means the hearing loss is permanent and medical treatment with medication or surgery will not improve the hearing. So your only option of hearing better is to get a hearing aid to amplify the sounds for you.

I know what you mean, what I have done is my hearing aid has an FM reciever and I can use my hearing aids and what ever my professors say I hear right in my hearing aids with out the added background noise. It is awesome and has helped me so much since I have been in college.

Sound occurs over a wide spectrum of frequencies. The human ear is sensitive to a frequency band withing that spectrum. Since sounds occur at different frequencies, you will not be able to hear the sounds at the high end. The frequency that dogs can hear covers a different range. That is why a dog can respond to a human voice, but also to a silent dog whistle which is too high of a frequency for humans. The most common frequency hearing loss for men is the same frequency that their wives speak.

It's hard to know unless you know more about the genes. It could be a dominant trait that was passed to you but not your siblings, or a recessive trait that your siblings would have, too, but is not obvious in them. My sister has something that my grandmother has, but no one else does – not mt grandmother's siblings, my dad's siblings OR any of my other siblings or my cousins. DNA can be strange like that so it really is hard to tell who may or may not have certain genetic traits.

If you have been watching the financial markets, including commodities, you have watched this problem growing for the past 6 years. And people have been grumbling at the grocery store for at least the past 3 years. It is only when the increases become dramatic that people (including the mainstream press, as opposed to markets reporters) start to notice and check things out. Also, the food riots over the past year brought it to the attention of international reporters & foreign correspondents. As this becomes more widespread, people finally take note of what has been going and getting worse & worse for years.
Another factor: most Americans pay little attention to international news or world events. They are very much caught up in their own little local day-to-day dramas and pay little attention to anything else. Even those with a college education tend to pay less attention than, say, Europeans of comparable educational level.
Also, Americans tend to think this is a big country and what happens elsewhere has little impact on the US — but this is a patently false assumption as everything interconnects and has to affect us sooner or later.
Once a couple of people jump on the story, the significance finally starts to sink in, and the mainstream press jump all over it. Then the "man in the street" finally "gets it".

I am a 40 year old female that woke up one morning and everything was ok and then suddenly my left ear starting ringing. After going to the E.R. and being sent to another hospital and then to 3 different doctors including an ear specialist I learned that I suddenly became deaf in my left ear for no apparent reason. The only possible way for me to maybe hear some is the BAHA procedure, Not sure it is for me and am really undecided at this time. Can anyone help me with this?

Usher syndrome is the most common form of combined congenital deaf-blindness in humans and affects 1 in 6,000 of the population. I'm sorry to hear abt ur hearing loss. It's a sweet gift that we all take granted for. Don't be shy to ask people to repeat. U may want to learn a little sign language and lip reading. Have u talked to the doctors about any medical hearing aids u could use? If those hearing aids can't help u and it's more of a nerve damage then I suggest looking into having a cochlea implant. However I don't think any doctor will recommend it to u unless, I don't mean to upset u, u r virtually deaf. Then u may consider a cochlea implant which really is a medical wonder and the procedure is very easy and safe. However u should try taking care of ears as much as u can, avoiding loud decibels, wax in the ears, etc. Perhaps the damage could get better…but I don't want to give u false hope. I hope this helps.
