ReSound hopes to push hearing aids into the 21st Century
Harvey Fletcher, a scientist at Bell Laboratories, is widely credited with inventing the electric hearing aid — a cumbersome, body-worn device that debuted in the 1930s. Eighty years later, ReSound in Bloomington, Minnesota, is trying to solve a problem that has eluded decades of innovation: reconcile the problematic device with ordinary life, 21st Century-style.

Today's modern soldier is screwed against a tank, a soldier from the late 19th century would be REALLY screwed… considering that there would be absolutely no weapons available to the 19th century soldiers to even put a scratch on an Abrams, or any tank for that matter!

In an effort to lure more lucrative brand advertising dollars to the web, the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) anointed six new online ad formats Monday at its Leadership Conference in Laquinta, Calif. The ads were designed and chosen to play to marketers’ calls for the bigger and more noticeable messages that in many ways is similar to TV advertising.

posted by: Lostnmissing Cynthia Caron LOGAN, Ohio— Officials are searching for answers after a Southeastern Ohio woman was reportedly abducted Wednesday evening. According to the Logan Police Department, Summer Inman, 25, was forcibly placed inside of an older model, white-colored Ford Crown Victoria, by at least one man, possibly two. Witnesses told police that a woman with bleached-blonde hair was driving the vehicle in question. It happened near the Century National Bank at 61 N. Market Street in Logan, just after 11 p.m. Wednesday. Multiple law enforcement agencies are actively pursuing leads, and assisting the Logan Police Department with its investigation. Authorities describe Summer as being a white female, 5’3″, 120 lbs., with brown hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing blue jeans and a dark t-shirt with white lettering that says “Angel.” The Ohio Attorney General’s Office has issued a statewide Missing Adult Alert and posted Summer’s photo and information on the Ohio…

Comcast is about to nationally roll out its 105Mbps (!) Internet service. The ISP hopes to have the service in several of its top markets, including Boston, Chicago, Denver, and Miami, bringing the total number of potential subscribers up to 40 million. Considering so much of legitimate media consumption these days is based on streaming, having a super fast Internet connection will only help to a point.

Good news for all iOS jailbreakers: turns out the latest 4.3.2 update is still vulnerable to the same untethered hacking method used by redsn0w for 4.3.1, so Dev-Team’s simply had to port his code over to the new kernel to keep the jailbreak alive. As before, the almighty iPad 2 is still not supported here, and ultrasn0w unlockers are reminded to wait for the new PwnageTool release later this week; but the rest of you can go ahead and grab the new tool — though fix pending for iPhone 4 at the time of publication — at the source link.

Update: Eke! Looks like the existing build is causing issues for iPhone owners — hang tight, we’re hearing that a fixed version is on the way!

It's typical to have family planning meetings or service plan reviews every followed by a court appearance every 6mo. If the parents are doing really well, and it looks like the child may be returned before the 6mo, they'll move it up. The other reason for more frequent court hearings is the parents lawyer. A really aggressive lawyer can petition the court more often in an attempt to get the child return more quickly.

With our first case we were in court every other week because Dad's lawyer was very thorough and insisted that Dad be able to prove his progress to the judge. In every other case, we've gone to court every 6mo.

Just because you don't acheive your dreams, doesn't mean you should lose them. Keep chasing them, and never give up.

Think of the worse outcome. You have attained everything you ever dreamed of… Now what do you do.

This is why a lot of young celebs turn to drugs etc. they have nothing left to chase.

Remember, the declaration of independance does guarantee the right to happiness; it guarntees the right to the PURSUIT of happiness.

    It's all about the chase.

Dream BIG, set your goals long, and NEVER stop running. If you "FAIL" you just start over again the next day, more inteligently than last time. You only truely "fail" if you quit. As long as you continue to run, you are still in the race.

Article: http://www.myxpitstop.com WWII Short documentary: The Japanese Invasion of Malaya The Japanese Invasion of Malaya began just after midnight on 8 December 1941 before the attack on Pearl Harbor. The Japanese plan for the invasion involved landing troops on the east coasts of Thailand and Malaya. The forces in Thailand were to push through to the west coast and invade Malaya from its northern province of Kedah, whilst their eastern forces from Vietnam would attack down the east coast and into the interior of Malaya from Kota Bharu. The Japanese attack force for the invasion of Malaya, Lieutenant General Tomoyuki Yamashita’s 25th Army, had sailed from Samah Harbour on Hainan Island on 4 December 1941. Japanese troops launched an amphibious assault on the northern coast of Malaya at Kota Bharu and started advancing down the eastern coast of Malaya. This was made in conjunction with landings at Pattani and Songkhla in Thailand, where they then proceeded south overland across the…
