Someone in Iraq throwing their shoes at President Bush.
Questions to start conversation. What if someone from America threw a shoe at Tony Blair, or Vladimir Putin? What if someone from America threw the shoe at Bush?
An activity….get a really really big BALL of yarn. You hold the string and a ball of yarn and say your name and something about yourself. Then say the name of a friend in the classroom and throw the ball to that friend (hold your string). The friend then says her/his name and something about her/himself, keeps hold of a piece of the string and throws the ball of yarn. This goes on until everyone is holding the string……
In the end…..The string should be somewhat tight. Everyone should be holding string.
Now a discussion………talk about the what if's and decisions you make every second of every day. It should start out with someone waking up and being nice. (The way the 'web' of yarn you have is now, relaxed and easy to manage)
The next step is to have one person give a good tug on the yarn. (That person is the designated, 'bad mood'.) That one person with a bad mood, tugged on the yarn and that tug likely was felt by all those around him. The same happens when you wake up in a bad mood.
Every single decision you make, has an effect on everyone you 're in contact with.
Then for fun……when you ball the yarn back up you have to go in reverse order. If Andrea started the yarn and threw it to Billy…..all the way to Yander and Zoey…..Zoey would wrap her area of yarn and throw the ball to Yander…..all the way back to Billy and Andrea…..bonus points if you can remember what was important to the person who threw the ball to you.
(confused?) I hope I explained it well.

Beautiful! Thank you for posting. I miss all my seniors I’ve loved and lost, and still grieve for them. We always adopt seniors; I made a decision years ago that I would take the dogs no one else wanted because they were “old”. Puppies are small and cuddly, but seniors and cuddly too, and forever loving. Please, all, consider adopting a senior – they have so much to give!!

Most Schools have Before and After School Care programs that extends to the school holidays – 'vacation care'
Usually its an independant person/s/business that runs this program but in the school grounds and you still get CCB from centrelink for it too.
Also some daycare centres have before, after and vacation care programs. I know of 2 close to me (I am on the gold coast) and know there would be more around the coast.
They come in a small bus and pick the children up from school or drop them there in the moring and on the holidays they have them all day. Usually they provide some food as well, usually breakfast and afternoon tea.
Get your yellow pages and look in the 'childcare centres' section and look for advertisments that have before & after school care programs AND also ring the school he will be attending and ask them what programs they have in place.
Good luck and best of luck with returning to work

I am saddened that I cannot persuade you. For now your are free, and you have the ability to choose. But if you continue in this fashion, to choose conveience over self-reliance–over freedom, the day will come when your ability to choose will have been eroded away, and your children will be born into servitude. My assertion may be hard to understand, but history repeats, and those who do not learn from it are destined to repeat it.

Adequate lighting is the most important factor for growing aquarium plants.
>1.5 watts/gallon, with 'full-spectrum' florescent lamps will produce good results. Make sure that the lamps you use say "Aquarium Use", they have the ability to deliver full spectrum light thru the aquarium water.
Most tanks have inadequate co2 levels, and adding co2 with a simple 'bubbler' will produce a noticable change in plant growth.
Liquid fertilizer is easy to use, but I don't find it necessary.
ADD: The substrate is important. You need to use gravel, sand will not work with live plants. There are better substrates than gravel, like 'Florite', but are not neccessary and are relatively expensive.

Teach them how to use search engines effectively, to get the info they want with the least possible tries. So many people stop trying to search for specific information because they don't know how to maximize their potential.
For fun stuff, you could teach them how to find free game sites that aren't going to load their computers down with viruses.

If I pay medical insurance for 20 yrs, and then oneday I have cancer – the insurance company can see my case is a BAD investment. They break their promise/contract with me under “pre-condition” because they are FOR PROFIT – greedy. Then I don’t have the financial fund for healthcare. Can’t get chemotherapy – get worse each day. Then I land in ER. I can’t pay ER cost, then that cost goes on everyone else premium. Insurance company don’t have to pay a cent b/c they are FOR PROFIT.

I think of writing, even creative writing, as a way to make an audience see something the way you want them to see it. The most interesting writing will do this even for audiences that didn’t see it in quite the same light as before. And moving an audience from point A to point B like that takes some doing. That doing is the “evidence” at work in combination with rhetoric.

High school seniors and juniors old enough to remember 9/11 understood the jubilation of some Americans over the death of Osama bin Laden. To younger children, even while growing up amid orange- and red travel alerts and heightened adult anxiety, the big deal over the assassination of Osama bin Laden had mixed reactions.
