Seniors: New hearing aids small, sleek and super high-tech
“If you think hearing aids are synonymous with getting old or becoming less capable, think again,” says Dr. Kathy Landau Goodman, chairperson of the Audiology Awareness Campaign.

Some plants that will do well in shade include impatiens and begonia, but impatiens are annual. They'll die after the first strong frost. Begonia are more expensive and are also more temperamental.
I am partial to impatiens because they are nonstop bloomers from spring until frost. I get mine already growing from Burpee or Southern States, because I am not skilled at growing from seed, except for marigolds, which are almost too easy to grow.

Not too sure about rock, although I imagine each of them will have a beat because if they hear it through the plugs there is less need for monitors which may cause feedback?
Certainly when I play with a symphony orchestra many wind and brass players wear earplugs so that they can play in tune better

In my state, there is a program you enter that's a division of the federal Department on Aging, for living at home alone. Once enrolled, medical difficulties qualify you for a Medicaid waiver program that gives you household help [cleaning, laundry, fix the occasional meal], personal care help [help negotiating baths or showers] and transportation to doctors, but if you don't qualify for the regular Medicaid, this waiver program costs you $20/hr. I don't know yet how many hours are required, to be put on the program. I'm on the waiting list.
My mother is in long-term care funded by Medicare/Medicaid, a nursing home, at 92.
Medical attention for me is from Medicare, with me owing the 20% overage.
Anytime something major changes in your budget, your rent is re-computed reflecting that change, such as my surgery last year leaving me with $3,000 for my 20%, reducing my rent by $80, increasing my food benefit card [formerly known as food stamps] for one month from $20 to $250, then returning to an increase of $18/mo. Over-the-counter necessities are counted against your rent, too, if you're living in government-assisted housing, as long as you furnish receipts.
I live in a government-assisted apartment complex — not HUD, not Section 8, but a USDA [Dept. Agriculture] program called Rural Housing, only 1/4 mile from city limits in a small mountain town, and only built just in '93, so it's pretty. Your rent is computed by subtracting your doctor's estimated office fees for the coming year and the medications you're on that the pharmacist computes for the coming year's refills — from your Social Security income. Your rent is a third of the balance. Grounds for eviction include any power shutdown from failure to pay your power bill.
I happen to be senior now, 63, disabled at 40, and the government groups the elderly with the disabled, so I've lived under other programs since. Discovering this complex was a find.

It's pretty grim! One gentleman in San Diego recently rolled his wheelchair into two banks and held them up with a BB gun! He was ill and about to lose his dwelling place. He reasoned that if he were convicted, he'd get medical care, shelter, and food for the rest of his life. He was sentenced to 35 years.
That's some testimonial to how well our health care system works. If you don't want socialized medicine, then when Medicare won't pay anymore, you can commit a crime and go to jail. Jail as a better alternative!!
I think some people have screwed up perspectives on elder care, and health care for the middle class and poor.
We are supposed to get sick, die, and be out of the way! Thanks, Tea Party.

It really depends on the dog and the children. We have a very docile Rat Terrier, we have had a Jack Russell (high energy), Rottweilers, Border Collie, Bull Terrier, Boxer's….
I would recommend our Rat Terrier but I have heard she is not the norm. I say she is a cat, great temperament, sleeps with my son under the blankets with her head on a pillow.
I would suggest a mild mannered medium size dog for small children, small dogs are typically high strung. Any size dog will need to be trained not only by you but your children as well so the dog will learn they are on the bottom of the pack. This will also teach your children leadership skills. BTW, all dogs are cute/adorable to someone same as children

Actually think the thing to do is ignore it. These are the same people who pretended to believe Clinton “did not have sex with that woman” until Clinton was forced to change his story. Well I could give so many examples. Ignore them and let the voters say whether it’s important. Like Obama wants to bring up past associations??
