I'm not sure about the darkness, but regarding the hearing loss, it may be due to a cyst-like liquid in your ear (That you may not even be able to feel), or something causing your nerve cells functioning to be hampered.

I suggest you take a nap whenever you feel the slightest bit of tired, try aromatherapy (Helps to clear your head), and drink lots of hot tea.

There's no point in going to the doctor. There is nothing they can do for your hearing damage. Only thing you can do right now is wear ear plugs to let the cells rest and regenerate. How long it takes to recover depends on the extent of damage. Could be a week or two, or could be never.

you can not perforate your ear drum but you can push the wax build up closer to the ear drum. and this will cause a mild hearing lose NEVER use anything in your ear like Q-tips, fingers, keys ETC. use some oil like olive, garlic oil any natural oil and it will help clean out your ears. PLACERVILLE, CA – The Placerville judge hearing the kidnapping and rape case of Jaycee Dugard has granted the prosecution’s motion to release a psychologist’s interview with defendant Phillip Garrido.
A court-appointed psychologist conducted the audio-only interview last month. El Dorado County Superior Court Judge Douglas Phimister had ordered the interview sealed until the psychologist made his written report, which was expected early next month. The El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office argued that was too close to the scheduled jury trial on Garrido’s mental competency for prosecutors to properly prepare their case.
Phimister ordered the interview to not be released to any other parties.

In 2007, the average hearing aid in the US sold for just under $2000 each. You can expect to find a range anywhere from just under $1000 to over $3000 a piece. Why the cost? They're very sophisticated micro-computers, individualized to each specific person's needs, extremely small, and become obsolete as quickly as other consumer electronics yet are sold in relatively small numbers (think big screen TVs when they first came out), just to name a few reasons.

My best advice is to stay away from gimmicky ads in the paper and coupon deals…seek out a recommendation from an audiologist after a thorough hearing exam. Not all hearing aid dispensers are audiologists so make sure you are seeing a hearing health care professional (ie. an audiologist) not a salesperson. You can ask your primary care physician who they recommend, or ask your insurance company who is on your plan.

If cost is a concern, seek out the best hearing aid you can afford as they will last about 5 years on average. Sound quality is proportionate to cost, and matching you up with a hearing aid successfully means getting features that will work well for how you plan to use it. Ask about payment plans, use your health care spending account if you have one, and see if you qualify for any discounts through your health insurance (although they are rarely covered.)
