My club has paid for hearing aids & TDY machines for those in need in our own community.Also provided the local hospital with the new equipment to test new born babies hearing. if you can hear the noise that means your airdrums are being vibrated… the louder you turn it up the harder your airdrums vibrate, if you turn it up loud enough to make your air drums vibrate to hard they will get damaged and you will loos hearing, the only way something can be too low to not damage your ear is if it is on a frequency that doesnt vibrate your ears meaning you couldnt hear it anyway.. makeing a reallly pointless subwoofer

A mixed hearing loss is a combination of a conductive hearing loss and a sensorineural hearing loss. The conductive component of mixed hearing losses are often temporary like how you describe for your son. If the conductive component is caused by middle ear fluid, the part of the hearing loss will more than likely get better.
The sensorineural component is permanent. And depending upon the degree of the sensorineural component, he may or may not require amplification from hearing aids.
I would recommend you consult your audiologist to discuss the effects of your son's hearing loss on his ability to hear and understand speech. He or she will be able to give you a better idea if he will possibly require hearing aids. It truly depends on his audiogram and your son's audiologist and ENT will be your best sources for determining the answer to this question.

I am deaf 90 in my left ear and 50 in my right from Endolymphatic Hydrops. But I think my hearing just got better in the right (because it fluctuates) but I haven’t had an audiogram since like the beginning of the year….but it should be at like 40-30

get yourself a pair of STRONG earplugs; they not only block the sound, but you can hear yourself to make sure you are in tune. I do this in Jazz Band, with 20-26 people in it. It helps A LOT!

1.) Sarge is on the money with suggestion of protecting your hearing. Anytime you have ringing in your ears or a diagnosed hearing loss you need to be vigilant about wearing ear protection to clubs, concerts, mowing the lawn, using power tools etc. Try the ones from the drugstore. If you want to invest a little money you can see an audiologist and get custom ones made for about $50 to $100 for a pair (yes protect both ears even though only one ear has hearing loss). The cusom ones can be made in a clear material that is inconspicuous and people won't notice in your ear too much.
2.) Monitor your hearing and get it tested every one or two years. Hearing loss generally progresses usually very slowly. If you ever notice a sudden change in hearing see someone ASAP!

Generally, hearing aids from a doctor are of better quality than those who aren't. The audiologist knows you better than these other people do, and know what is right for you, and what isn't.
I have my hearing aids from my audiologist, and I have never had any problems with it personally. Even though it's pricier, it's worth it. I don't trust these adverts. Anyway, good luck, and ask your audiologist for more information.

Yes, it can as long as the electronics inside were not damaged. It will just need to be re-shelled. Take it either to the place you bought it, or to your current hearing care provider.
Check your contract to see if your hearing aid is still under warranty and what your warranty covers before taking the hearing aid in.
If you have a hearing aid style that fits completely in your ear (not a behind the ear style), the hearing aid provider will need to remake the mold. The hearing aid will have to be sent off to the manufacturer for repair.
Getting the hearing aid re-shelled will cost you a quite a bit, but no where near the cost of a new aid.
Another thing you might want to keep in mind if your hearing aid is a little older, is that it might be time to have it replaced anyway. If its been over a year since you had an audiogram, request a new test to see if your hearing has changed. Some hearing aid providers will give you a free hearing test or "hearing screening" for free in hopes that you will buy a new set of hearing aids. Also keep in mind that the technology of hearing aids has come a long way in the past 3-5 years, you may benefit more from the new technology than your old aid.

You need to be seen by a Dr. there is no way for someone to diagnose a hearing problem via this forum. It could come back in the next few minutes or it may never come back. If you know who this person is take them to small claims court and have them pay your medical bills and if the Dr. says your hearing may never come back then its a much bigger law suit.
