It seems I am the only adult I know that doesn’t own one. If I am at work, people can contact me, at home then if someone doesn’t have my number I don’t want to speak with them. If I am out and about I do not want to be bothered. I want to enjoy my time outside. I understand if people are doctors or people that need to be contacted yet children do not need them unless for emergencies. Other then that forget about it!

Just start with frutty loops free demo DAW and use midi to test it out. You can use mac or pc doesnt matter. A preamp is for recording a instrument or mic. If your only doing stuff on the computer no live recording just get a midi keyboard or midi pads. Then get a interface and hook them all up to your DAW (ex. frutty loops) then you your set. there are preamps that are also audio and midi interfaces. I use M-Audio fast track ultra. It has 4 preamps and midi in and out also has phantom power if you are using a condenser mic. So for now just download frutty loops or and other demo of a DAW and just listen through your computers soundcard. (Your computer has a built in device that will play back your recordings) not the best but good for now.
there are sample sound of what frutty loops can do on this site. try it out its free. I tried it its cool. I use Sonar 8.5 producer.

Well you reduce your chances to zero if you dont do something as silly as rubbing your cut on someone elses. Theres other things such as hepatitis you can get anyway so a tip is just never do that.

Dana, when we first did this (with a ‘cross-search’ box) it caused some confusion owing to the ‘auto box filling’ behaviour you mentioned. With some training that has lessened; but the concern remains that some students ‘just’ use this without exploring features of individual databases. On balance I’d say a good broad search is better than the no search some students might do if there were no ‘somple box’ there
