If you can’t figure out what’s expected of you for participation, the teacher needs to do a better job articulating that. I don’t teach LIS, but do teach on campus and online, and it helps when a student can describe what they think the expectation is and ask why what they’re doing isn’t meeting that expectation. That helps me figure out how to see the mismatch and provide strategies. I hope your teacher would do the same.

I don't say this in a mean way, but do you think you're the first person to ask this question? You can probably get answers to most every other question you might have about medical school by searching for the main words in Yahoo Answers.

But since you have asked, the best place for you to start is reading this overview of the entire process of becoming a physician, from high school through residency: http://money.howstuffworks.com/becoming-a-doctor9.htm

There are basically two main hazards that may result from a nuclear power plant. One is the disposal of nuclear wastes, which is a solvable problem (there are many regions on the planet with little or no population where nuclear waste disposal would affect virtually no-one). The other is the possibility of a nuclear reactor meltdown, which can be devastating to the local environment and population: this has happened exactly once in history (Chernobyl).

Compare this to the hazards resulting from oil & gas exploration and development: accidents resulting in thousands of deaths per year, as well as devastating environmental disasters (Exxon Valdez etc.), are commonplace in the industry, although vastly underreported.

chicksdaddy writes “A Massachusetts restaurant chain was the first company fined under the state’s toughest-in-the-nation data breach law, according to a statement by the Massachusetts Attorney General. The Briar Group, which owns a number of bars and restaurants in Boston, is charged with failing to protect patrons’ personal information following an April, 2009 malware infestation. It was ordered to pay $110,000 in penalties and, essentially, get its together. Among the revelations from the settlement: Briar took six months to detect and remove the data stealing malware, continuing to take credit and debit cards from patrons even after learning of the data breach, said Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley.”

many from Vietnam still not helped on ptsd and psyche fighting fro it..
and I'm a NSC disabled vet 70's cant get much of the advertised help!

the VA hospitals have no capacity fro regular quality care and almost none for psyche.
most troops will be coming back with ptsd or other disability
San Fran has 11 psyche beds..
if you don't require in patient physical rehab your likely not getting much help or care
how many psyche beds does your local VA have. how many can they give care to.

are there on site homeless and psyche care or is it all shoved to off site? outta site -outta mind..
are there social workers at VA hospitals to deal with all issues? where the specialists and services are or are they going to run vets all over the cities fro care so they don t / or can't afford to come back?

    do the math.

they will be doing the drug em and shove em program.
when i was in west la there was a 2 year wait for ptsd care its claimed some complained and lost the ptsd diagnoses.
    fixed that problem.
unless everyone gets involved and demands it changes now.
    it will be even worse.

many aren't coming home to extended families and calm farm towns and peace.

many are coming home to yet another war and with the way things are they wont make it.

ask me homeless 7+ years/ because unpopular disabilities and no substance abuse.

    no one politician is answering.

watch out fro some vets who have never looked at the issues or needed the care..
    go to veteransforamerica.org
    and iava.org
and many more who are fighting fro veterans health and rights. daily.

    politicians
    I've asked them all

Where was any of that in the new Medusa sequence? I had been recommending to some people I know to check out your series but after this major train wreck of a review, I am gonna scale back on that notion. Not everyone agrees all the time, fair enough, but how not even one of you can understand why this remake, and just about all recent remakes, are terrible… yikes. Does not bode well for your further opinions. And the original Clash of the Titans still stands up as a great movie.

I agree, just by the very definition of Competitive Advantage. When a firm sustains profits that exceed the average for its industry, the firm is said to possess a competitive advantage over its rivals. A CA exists when the firm is able to deliver the same benefits as its competitors at a lower cost (cost advantage), or deliver benefits that exceed those of competing products (differentiation advantage). Thus a CA enables the firm to create superior value for its customers and superior profits for itself. This is obviously desirable, whether you're running a retail business like Starbucks or running an orphanage.

Why is it that the boat spec requirements for this race always seems to favor speed over safety? Obviously none of the boats were structurally sound enough for this race and the conditions which should have been anticipated. The race organizers who set the boat requirements seemed to have sacrificed safety for speed and I’d want to know why if I was sailing a volvo race.

As the market-driven logic of neoliberal capitalism continues to devalue all aspects of the public good, one consequence has been that the educational concern with excellence has been removed from matters of equity, while the notion of schooling as a public good has largely been reduced to a private good. Both public and higher education are largely defined through the corporate demand that they provide the skills, knowledge and credentials that will provide the workforce necessary for the United States to compete and maintain its role as the major global economic and military power. Consequently, there is little interest in both public and higher education, and most importantly in many schools of education, for understanding pedagogy as a deeply civic, political and moral practice – that is, pedagogy as a practice for freedom.
