Hearing a voice other than yours means you're going about as normal then you get this "thought" in your head that you KNOW you did not think on purpose and it sounds like something you wouldnt even say.

A conscience is just you getting some common sense and wondering "Should I really do this?"

Why do you need a comparison? Your audiologist will be able to tell you WHICH hearing aid will work best for YOUR hearing loss and why some others won't. There is no way to really rate them as they are designed for certain types of hearing loss so you have to have your audiologist tell you which one would work best for YOUR hearing loss. Hearing aides are not like washers or cars where you can test them for routine things as they get adjusted for each individual person and some are suited for only certain types of hearing loss.

My son had a baseball coach that was deaf, which my son is too, but anyway, he did a conference on some phones through verizon that were for hearing impaired. Although ya know if you husband was to get a hearing aid he could plug a cord right up to the aid from the phone and onlt hear the conversation.

Many people with hearing problem will be very familiar with BTE, or behind the ear, hearing aid. Identical to the name, this is a kind of assistive hearing device that simply is located behind the ear of the user.
I'm not sure this device is the same as you describe. Even so, it may work as well or better for your situation. It's called a Stealth Secret Sound Amplifier and looks like a blue-tooth.
Go to

Hope this helps, Jeff

It's time we passed a law whereby we could go all French Revolution on these scumbags because of the size and sheer audacity of their crimes. They should be paraded in chains through the streets of New York, filthy and beaten, on a horse drawn cart, on their way to the guillotine. Vote me up if you agree.

Yes, it is possible.

I am deaf in my right ear... and I have "cros hearing aids." I have to wear a hearing aid in both ears. The one in my deaf ear simply receives any sound coming in on that side and transmits it into the hearing aid on my good ear. I still have no sense of direction and usually can't tell where sound is coming from... but I can actually hear someone whispering in my deaf ear (even though I'm really hearing it in my good ear). It's pretty cool... though it's not the greatest in noisy environments. One other disadvantage is it uses hearing aid molds in both ears, which does block some of the sound on my good ear from getting in... and I have to increase the volume on the microphone on my good ear's hearing aid to make sure I'm hearing everything on both sides.

Someone did try to convince me to try something called a bone-anchored hearing aid (BAHA implant). It was too invasive for my liking, but from what I understand it is something that is implanted behind your deaf ear and allows sound to be conducted through the bone rather than through the middle ear ("direct bone conduction"). I think it still transmits the sound to your good ear, but it supposedly feels like you're hearing in your deaf ear.

There could be a number of possibilities going on such as endometriosis (just using endometriosis as an example only) but the only way to know for sure what is going on is to see your doctor for further evaluation of the situation to see what they think could be going on.

You really can't go wrong with either the Syncro or the Delta. Don't know anything about the Destiny. My daughter wears the Syncros (BTE, her loss is too severe for ITE) and they are the greatest thing since sliced bread. My father wears the Epoq which is bluetooth enabled and those are also great. Unlike what the previous poster wrote (all of which was accurate and great except for this part) the Delta is the most invisible BTE hearing aid imagineable, they use open-fit molds, and unless you are looking you really can't see them.

One thing that makes me shy away from ITE aids is that if they need to go in the shop for repairs, you can't get an ITE loaner from your audiolgoist because the casing is completely customized to your ear canal -- if your BTE breaks, you just pop another unit on your custom ear mold (if you have one) or an open fit mold if you don't and you are good to go.

Sound occurs over a wide spectrum of frequencies. The human ear is sensitive to a frequency band withing that spectrum. Since sounds occur at different frequencies, you will not be able to hear the sounds at the high end. The frequency that dogs can hear covers a different range. That is why a dog can respond to a human voice, but also to a silent dog whistle which is too high of a frequency for humans. The most common frequency hearing loss for men is the same frequency that their wives speak.

Ohh I'm not upset.... but like yasamih said... it is wayyyy OVERPRICED! I agree with her 100000% They shouldn't make it so friggin pricey! Most deaf/hard of hearing can't afford that unless they are stinky wealthy and have you heard of a wealthy deaf person? I certainly haven't.
